second guessing hall choices?? PLEASE HELP!

Why am I doing this to myself? Ok here is what I looked at...
Riveria-too small
Manor East-too small
Swan club-not us
Sand Castle-too expensive, rude banquest manager
Water Mill-possibly too expensive
Stewart Manor CC-loved as did FH, but afraid to settle
Coral house-did not like at all

As many of you know our top is $75-80 ( includes ALL, tax, gartuities etc)

I would like to look at :
Sunset Harbour
Meadow Club
Larkfield Manor

I need help so badly here, I need prices more then anything and we are leaning towards Stewart Manor...we like the feel/price but I keep second guessing if there is something better out there....did anyone else keep doing this to themselves????
Donna
Im so sorry for my constant posts, once I choose I will be better I promise!

Re: second guessing hall choices?? PLEASE HELP!

don't stress...you will make a decision soon.
I know you have a huge list of places but did you happen to look at the timber point country club. They just redid their rooms and it looks beautiful......here's the site.

http://www.lessing.com/timberpoint.htm

Also, chateau le mer is redoing their rooms. Take at look at them. they are reasonably priced as well. Sorry for trying to add to your list rather than reduce it.

hope this helps a bit.

Re: second guessing hall choices?? PLEASE HELP!

Try these places
* LaGrange Inn (I really liked them about $60pp w/o tax gratuity)
* Huntington Townhouse (prices vary, play hardball and they will keep lowering the price)

Re: second guessing hall choices?? PLEASE HELP!

Chateau La mer- hard bad things? Could be wrong though
Huntingtown Townhouse - not our style
La Grange- Not sure

Oh why is this so hard, hardest part is finding time to look at these places and the dates we want are getting booked!

Re: second guessing hall choices?? PLEASE HELP!

The reality is for $75-80 a head the choice will be limited unless you have alot of people.
Thats what I found.

Have you thought about getting married on a Yacht. We got some great prices but we had already booked our hall. That would be my 1st choise if I had to do it over.

Re: second guessing hall choices?? PLEASE HELP!

I have only seen a few of the places you mentioned so I'm no help but I just wanted to offer sympathy. Picking a reception hall was so difficult. I was so stressed out until the contract was signed. Just take a deep breathe and step back and remember that no matter where you choose to have your reception, your day will be wonderful. I had to keep reminding myself of that because it was so easy to get caught up in the details. There are so many catering halls on Long Island - it's impossible to see them all and know everything about them all.

Good luck - you'll be on to more fun things before you know it.

Re: second guessing hall choices?? PLEASE HELP!

All three of you new choices should be in your price range depending upon the menu you choose, date and time of day. By the way, why do you think you're settling with Stewart Manor? Is there something about it you don't like?

Re: second guessing hall choices?? PLEASE HELP!

I would also like to suggest Timber Point....I know it was mentioned but you didn't mention whether or not you looked there (I'm partial to it since I'm having mine there :). I've seen it after the rennovations and it looks just beautiful- very quaint, view of the water, a cozy feel to it (fits up to like 220 people though)....The prices are reasonable, but I don't know if the price range you mentioned will work - I'd still check it out though because they may be able to work with you if you're looking for a non-prime time month or a friday or sunday evening. Definitely worth a shot....
Good luck!

Re: second guessing hall choices?? PLEASE HELP!

Crest hollow and timberpoint I believe were above our prices....I felt like settling with Stewart Manor because it felt like less of a place, which is actually not so true, maybe Im justnot used to thinking of them as I am of Crest hollow for example...I swear Im going to lose it before I decide.

Re: second guessing hall choices?? PLEASE HELP!

I can't give any advice on Stewart Manor because I've never seen it. I can tell you that FH and I started our search at The Meadow Club and ended there. Their prices are amazing, the food is incredible, we loved the Victorian decor and valet parking and centerpieces are free. I may have told you already so I'm sorry if I'm repeating myself...we're paying $62pp for a Friday night wedding. Total including tax and tip comes to $79.38pp. We also saw Larkfield Manor and we LOVED it! But it was out of our budget...for a Friday night, he wanted $85pp. With tax and tip it was $109.08pp. Good Luck! I hope I've helped some!

Re: second guessing hall choices?? PLEASE HELP!

Meadow Club sounds like it might suit your needs. We went to a wedding there this past October and it was really pretty!! Definetely check it out!!

Also, don't know how many guests you are planning on having, but check out the George Washington Manor in Roslyn as well!!

ETS: Try Woodbury Country Club and Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor or Crest Hollow as well!! If you are flexible with the day and time you might be able to get a good deal within your price range-

Good Luck & let us know how it all works out!

Re: second guessing hall choices?? PLEASE HELP!

We are getting married at the Fox Hollow, and they have rooms of all sizes. Depending on the time & day you want, you CAN get something within your price range.

We wanted the bigger Garden Terrace room, so we were able to get it for lower minimum and great price for a Sunday afternoon wedding...and now I am SOOO excited we decided to do a daytime wedding! We are also going to have an 'after' party with close friends and family!

I think if you are flexible with days & afternoon weddings, you can find just what you are looking for.

Good Luck!!!

Re: second guessing hall choices?? PLEASE HELP!

What about The North Ritz Club? Contact my sister JessNyc711 for details. I'm not certain on the details but I believe it was definitely below 100 pp.

Best Wishes,
