Mailed My Invitations Today!!
Well girls...I am getting excited and neurotic at the same time!!! I mailed my invitations today!! A few days early but I was too excited. They have been addressed and ready for weeks now. I couldn't wait. They say 8 weeks before the wedding id a good time to mail them. My wedding is October 7th. So I am a few days early!! But now I am starting to panic abount all the little things. Hair, make-up, being ready on time..that sorta stuff! Whew!! ALmost can't wait till this is all over and I an on the honeymoon!! VACATION.
FNRLDRECTR@AOL You can also try LeCrimp (Huntington I think) if you regular salon can;t accomadate you. Ask for Nick. My price range was 50-75 travel included when I did hair still. Valerie
How far in advance to reserve depends on the time of year and where you are. A few brides a while back were a bit panicky when they needed more rooms and the area was all booked. If it's a popular vacation time, or there are conventions or other events around, you may have trouble getting the rooms you want, but some places won't reserve more than 10 - 12 months in advance.

Congrats ladies...my married friends say one of the big "wow we're really doing this" moments is when you mail the invites. I still have 7 months but I am trying to handle stuff now that I can because I know in the last month or two there is alot to handle that you can't schedule any earlier. Try to take some time for relaxing and dont forget to vent here if you need to. Good luck
FNRLDRECTR@AOL A lot of people have suggested the anniversary dance.. all married people on dance floor for a dance & the DJ starts asking people to leave who are married less then a year & on down to the longets married couple being presented with the bouqet.

Ann-Marie: Did you handwrite the invitation addresses?
We have already decided to skip the garter and bouquet throwing all together. I am all for traditions however, we feel this one is a bit "cheesey". I know how people on this sight love that expression. Actually, we just think the idea is not for us- to each their own- plus it give you more time for dancing.
It never hurts to give guests and idea of what you'd like IF they ask. Otherwise, you might end up with a lot of vases and candlesticks that you won't have room to store right now.
Mailed My Invitations Today!!
Annmarie Hey-youre ahead of the game ! My wedding is October 8th, I will be mailing them out next week. Last nite I counted all of them (and of course I am short 43 reception cards !) so i will leave out 40people that I know are coming until those come in....
That must feel like a big load was lifted !
Congrats~
congrats Ann-marie...now the real "fun" begins. That was the time that I really started to worry about finding hiar/makeup people...harder when none of the bridal party wanted to or could afford to join in.
Remember to take time to breathe- if you can- go for a walk with your honey...or watch a movie. Towards the end comes all the little things...who needed a hotel rm and didnt reserve one..who you thought was coming and isnt...dresses that may be late, tuxes, etc. try if you can to have the batchleor/ and lette party the wk b4 the wedding...so u can really enjoy...the party coming up!
Hope this helps! (and 2 days after your rsvp date is FINE to start calling all those stragglers!)
Mailed My Invitations Today!!
My FMIL printed them. SHe took calligraphy classes and did them by hand.
My friends went with only the bouquet (plenty of not married, but not considered single girls at the wedding, I caught it by the way!!!) & skipped the garter toss. All th enot married fellas didn't seem to mind it! Val
