Where is everyone living after the wedding?

We are trying to decide whether to rent or buy something. If we buy, it will definitely be a fixer-upper or a coop or condo. Just wondering what everyone else is doing--it is so hard to afford living around here!

I just had a thread that about this. FH and I live in a 2 bedroom apt(free of charge) in his parents houe in Queens, so that is where we will stay after the wedding, and I can start decorating

We just got our apartment on Sat. It is a great 5 room (2 bedroom) apartment in Bklyn.

We are looking for a house now, but there is still a chance that we may end up with a condo or co-op since they are so much cheaper. We don't want to rent though.

My brother and SIL just bought a house, so we are hoping to move into his two bedroom apartment in Mineola.

We just got a new apartment, so next year we might try for a house. I don't want to get a co-op or condo because I want something more roomy, and you get the best deals as a first time buyer, so might as well use those deals for a house.

ARRRRRGGGGG.. We are actually looking for a house right now! How frustrating!!! I've had it! We have outgrown our apartment that we've been in for 2 years.
It was the wedding then the house or a house then the wedding.
We do things backwards as you can see from my wedding date

We are living with my mother for a month (or however it takes FH to find a job- he is moving here from MA) and then we are getting an appt before we move down south.

I haven't the foggiest idea. We could stay where we are, we could move.

I should say, however, that I am hightailing it down to Baltimore as soon as possible!


They have apartment complexes there!

FH bought our home before he even proposed! It's great that he did that, but at the same time I wish I would have had some say in which house he bought.... and my name's not on it nor did he give me the opportunity to contribute $$$.... so I get to pay for the wedding!

But I am thrilled that we have a place to live and that it's a HOUSE! I will be moving in after the wedding....

We're going to live with my parents until we can afford to buy our own home. Hopefully, prices will go down.

We will start looking for a place in Jan or Feb 2005.. so we can be all moved in before the wedding in May. Hopefully somewhere near water..
