Mistress Steinbrenner must have really let them have it last night for such results today.

hehe

Though the 'Mistress' part is obviously a joke, I woulnd't be surprised if this didn't happen. You should have results like today when you're paying 200 million for your team.

As well, the D-Rays must have been drunk.

Anytime the Yankees win, its ONLY because we are being 'paid' to win , or the other team is 'half asleep' or 'drunk'

It couldn't possibly be because our team is GOOD, now can it? Naaaahh (then again what would Mets fans know about good teams anyhow !!)

or could it be that the Yankees have a 200 million dollar payroll and the other team like 30 - 40 million. Yankee fans are funny -- I love em -- but they will never admit that their team is all about the money.

It's the money to be able to bring in Giambi(who I think is a good guy -- him and Bernie) and the money to keep the guys they have brought up -- Rivera, Posada, etc.

Money doesn't make a player good, talent does. It's that talent that is worth 200 million. Fortunately for Yankee fans George is willing to pay for it. How else would you get a team this talented if you don't buck up for it.

Though I am wholeheartedly a Yankee fan, I still like the Mets (probably the only one who'll admit it) and do feel bad for them.

Princess.. you're pretty cool like Felicia and a few other Yankee fans on here.. but you are in a distinct minority when it comes to Yankee fans not bashing the Mets or any other team.

Might I remind all of the Texas Rangers fan who got the $hit beat out of him in the bathroom during a playoff game a few years ago or the Bleacher Creatures. (A bunch of low-life drunks.)

I hear ya.. but it makes for like 25 out of 30 teams that really don't have to show up for the season because the Yanks have the odds so stacked in their favor.

Can I say that I'm more apt to blame that on NEW YORK as a city than on the team?

Since I have moved to NY, I have never encountered SUCH rudeness, cynicism, etc. as I have here. People here ask you questions but don't wait for the answers!

FH's friends are all amazed at how NICE I am, and they all say it's because I didn't grow up here.

I'm not saying all NYers are rude, but I will say that the look of surprise on the face of the man for whom I held the door this morning at Starbucks says a LOT.

I had the Sunday package but couln't afford it after we got engaged. Luckily my company gives out tickets every now and then.

My true loyalty will always be with the Yankees, can't deny that. But if the Mets were in the World Series (not against the Yankees), I would definitley root for them.
