BIG change in weight loss program - SCARED (Long)

I have been a WW for 2 years now. Unfortunately, I have been on a plateau for 1 year (havent lost 1 pound) and its so fustrating! I finally decided that $500/yr is not worth it if I am not losing any weight - so, I hired a trainer and joined a gym. He promised I can lose the last 20 lbs (I already lost 40) in 20 weeks. I am going to follow his meal recommendations and work out 4 times a week (twice with him)... I am excited about the change and the possibility of real results, but I am scared of leaving WW - its such a way of life for me. The last thing I want to do is gain weight!!

Re: BIG change in weight loss program - SCARED (Long)

I know that it's scary to change diet options, but I found for myself that my body gets used to one thing after a while and it doesn't work as well as it used to. Good for you to go to the gym! Having a trainer will help- it's like having a set date every week- you'll feel guilty if you 'stand him up' :) Good luck with it! You have lots of time before your wedding. 20 pounds in 20 weeks is only 1 pound a week, which is totally doable. Good luck!

Hey, by the way, I like the day that you're getting married... :) And, we're both planning our weddings from CA- how funny...

Re: BIG change in weight loss program - SCARED (Long)

First off congrats on the weight you have already lost.

Can't you do both? Integrate some of the principles of WW with your new training and the meal suggestions of the trainer.

Since you've been on WW so long, you know the program. Maybe you still follow it without paying for it.

Good Luck!

Re: BIG change in weight loss program - SCARED (Long)

Its hard to explain ... its 5 meals based on my nutritional needs (vegatarian) and the workout we designed

but they equal 1500 -1700 calories. on ww, I was only eating 1200 (22pts)

Re: BIG change in weight loss program - SCARED (Long)

Adding exercise to you lifestyle is definitly going to help. I don't know why people don't exercise! It is the BEST thing for you!

Your diet before and lack of exercise made you loose muscle, which in turn lowered your metabolism so you were unable to loose any more weight. I guess I am repeating what your trainner said.
