Please Help Me.... As a guest, what would you prefer...
I really want a Sat. Night wedding, but it may not be financially reasonableat Carlyle.... 200pp dont thnk soSo then the choices of Friday night or Sunday night.
What would you prefer?
I'm confused, I think on Friday's people have to rush out of work to make it to the church and rush home, get changed and to ceremony. Don't forget about the Friday Rush Hour.... especially b.c I have a lot of people coming from Queens...
Also, I have been to Friday weddings where not many have showed up to the ceremony at the church.
or
Sunday night... but then are people going to leave early or be annoyed b/c they have to work the next day? They do have the day to get ready and travel to the ceremony/church, but they have to worry about getting up early the next day for work?

Re: Please Help Me.... As a guest, what would you prefer...
I chose Friday night.I would think about work the next day for a Sunday night wedding. IMO a Sunday afternoon wedding would be better than a Sunday night.
ETA: The reason I like Fridays is you can party late and sleep late the next day. The people who care will still come on Sunday, but maybe not party as hard/stay as late.

Re: Please Help Me.... As a guest, what would you prefer...
Seriously, IF they want to be there, they will find the way....I am having mine on Sunday evening, and a lot ore planning on taking Monday off...or just going in late...
If they want to be there for you, they will be...do hat you want, not what everyone else thins...at first I was like, well the girls from work cannot come if its a Sunday night, then I was like...screw it..if they want to be there, they will have the way....And they are coming!
(or so they say!)

I honestly would prefer a Sunday night. I love attending ceremonies and I don't mind going to bed late either. JMO.

Keep em coming! So far I am happy with what I hear... thank you so much...
I really want a Sat. night wedding but with taxes and grat. it comes to 200pp.... it's just too much.. and that is w/o adding vienesse or anything else I wanted!
I just had such a hassel leaving work early one day for a fri. wedding and was caught in traffic forever and a day... I don't want that for my guests.... but I also don't want them to be upset with a sunday wedding going to work the next day!

I got married on a Friday night and we had a decent amount of people show to the Ceremony. Our Ceremony started at 4pm and recept at 7pm. Plus the people whom lived in the city or had to travel did not have to rush to get home. They stayed the night and still had sat & sun to relax.

In my experience, tbhe Sunday of a Holiday Weekend was as expensive as a Saturday night...We were looking for the Sunday of Columbus Day Weekend....it was the same price as a Sat Night...

Re: Please Help Me.... As a guest, what would you prefer...
I prefer Sunday evening -that way it is not a work day and people will be able to come to your ceremony in addition to your cocktail hour and reception -There is a greater chance that people would just go to the reception if it were a Friday evening -
FOr Sunday - people may leave early - but at least everyone was there for most of the day - and the people that matter most will stay till the end!

Re: Please Help Me.... As a guest, what would you prefer...
Carlyle was way too much for me in the summer for a Sat. Night... as was Flowerfield.Port Jeff CC was 139, with tzes 180 and if I want to add vienesee hour and others even higher.
Villas was 119- more affordable for Sat. night, but isn't me...
Still want to look at Watermill...... but prob. booking Port Jeff.

Re: Please Help Me.... As a guest, what would you prefer...
I picked Friday.. Fh and I will be getting married on a friday too. Ideally, Sat. is best but toooo much $$$$. We have been to Friday and Sunday weddings. We picked Friday over Sunday because we found that the party ends earlier on a Sunday because of work the next day. When I went to the first friday wedding, I thought.. what a drag!! But, it actually was better than a Sunday IMO. Do what is best for you and FH. Your guests will come either way.. especially if they love you.

I voted for Friday night.
