Marriage License Questions

OK, so when is the absolute earliest you can go to get it? where do we go in nassau county to get it? and what do you need? FH is a legal US Citizen but was not born in America.

its valid for 60 days

He probably needs birth cert., license, his legal citizen papers...

you should only need license and birth cert.

I dont know about Nassau though

it is valid for 60 days. We went to the Manhasset office and brought our license and passports.

I believe there is info on this site on whree to go for marriage license. If not this one, check out maybe theknot. I know I read it somewhere. therei s a few places in nassau - one in mineola, one in hempstead
and it is only valid for 60 days
they like us to stress out by not being able to check that off our list too early

ive been so prepared and organized with EVERYTHING... but when we went to the Manhasset location, FH turns to me and says 'We forgot to get money!!!'

Luckily there is a fleet bank a block away!

We went to Manhasset too. I believe there are a few locations in nassau for each one's town clerk's office..

Hempstead was quick. In and out in 10mins.

No problem about your FH
Jim isnt a US citizen and doesnt have a passport.

He just brought his Greencard, ID, SS & Birth Cert.

i don't even know if you need immigration paperwork. My husband is here on a student visa (which is in his passport) but I don't think they even looked. He didn't have anything else with him.
If you FH is a US citizen - he shouldn't need any documentation. His country of birth is irrelevant.

thank you! his family was actually sponsored by a church to come to the country-so I'm guessing his citizen papers would be enough--his bro just got married and i think they hardly asked for anything--i just wanted to make sure because it's Nassau-(his bro went to the city) he's all legal so i'm sure it'll be fine!
