Avg Photographer Price?

I was just wondering what you ladies are paying for photography?

I just started planning and was wondering on the average price for photography and video.

TIA

Re: Avg Photographer Price?

The prices ranges anyhwere from $2000 to over $5000. I know someone paying over $6000 for photos alone. It really all depends on your needs.

Re: Avg Photographer Price?

Alot of girls on here go for Duet and Twelfth Night, whose quality of work and reasonable prices make them very appealing. Do a search for both and you will find plenty of information.

I would say the 'average' is around 3-4K. Although, as the above poster said, I also have a friend who paid ALOT (I think 7K) She said it was the only thing they wanted to splurge on, and I understand that.

Re: Avg Photographer Price?

We didn't get video, but from what I hear they go for about $1500 or more.

For our Photographer, we are using Proline Studio's. We got one of the big packages, which is running us $2895 We get 68 8x10's in our leather bound Bridal album, 100 thank you's, 1 20x24, 4 5x7's, 4 8x10's, all proof's & negs to keep. We paid cash, so we didn't get charged Tax which saved us some money too.

I will share with you some of their other packages:

$2495 Regency Package: 36 8x10 for Leather Bridal Album, 2- 18 5x7 parent album's, 1 11x14 Portrait, 2 8x10's, 75 Thank You's, all proofs & Negs.

$3495 Elegant Package: 60 8x10 Leather Bridal Album, 2 - 30 pic 5x7 Parent album's, 1 20x24 Protrait, 2 11x14's, 10 5x7's, 125 Thank You's, all proofs & negs

All packages from Proline can be custumed and upgraded. Tehy offer an additional photographer for you wedding day to take ONLY 'Photojournalist' pics, in addition to the primary Photographer who will take more traditional shots. The cost of that is $1,095, but they can be chewed down to $900 ( just know how to negotiate)

**Any picture you can made Black & White for no additional charge**

Re: Avg Photographer Price?

We are using a freelance photojournalist, so we are only paying 2500 for photography. We get 1000 proofs minimum, her services for as many hours as we need, we own all of our negatives and all of our proofs are 4x6 with a white border around them. HTH.

Re: Avg Photographer Price?

We paid a little over $6K for two photographers w/2 assts for 10 hours (one traditional, one photojournalist). That included a $4500 credit towards albums, TY, enlargements, etc. Our engagement shoot was included as well.

ETA: I ended up with 757 proofs which we keep.

Re: Avg Photographer Price?

If I were you, I would budget around $4000. Since your wedding is next year, prices will go up between now and then so I highly recommend booking your photographer ASAP (prices usually go up around January). Now, $4K is probably a little high, but at least it will give you room to work with.

Re: Avg Photographer Price?

Wow, you guys are paying a lot. My cousin recommended Dan Wagner Photography -- her photos are beautiful. I'm having Dan shoot my wedding. He was easy to deal with and his prices are fantastic. I'm on a tight budget so I'm getting 4x6 prints of all the shots -- without any writing on the front. Dan is including all the shots on cd's so I can either have him make prints and albums or do it myself. I was very impressed with his work. He's photographed Kelly Ripa, Susan Lucci and others. His web site is danwagner.com I hope my other vendors are as good

Re: Avg Photographer Price?

We spent $3500 and I was amazed at the number and quality shots received. They are very creative and got shot that I requested and then some. Check out www.somethinginblue.com. They are a husband and wife but they book fast.

Out video was also amazing from classicvideoprod.com, which was 2,000.

I would budget at least $5,000 for the both. Good luck

Re: Avg Photographer Price?

The Average Price is a loaded questions. The least expensive I saw for B&G wedding album and 2 parent albums was about $1500, but it can go up to over $10K. It really depends on the photographer and the package.

I'd say you can get a good package for $2500 for photo.

Re: Avg Photographer Price?

I am paying $850 for five hours of shooting from 12th Night. $100 more an hour. Can't go wrong there, especially since we are doing everything at the Swan Club including the ceremony. It doesn't include any albums, but they are doing it all digital so I can do whatever kind of albums I want.

I will probably have them do a 'grand' album for me and FW... and we will do the parent and friend's albums ourselved.
