Re: Where are the November Brides???
I'm not having programs. The favors are already wrapped! The menu and cake will be decided with hall. Oh yeah, I have to figure out what to do for wedding rings.

Ooh, that seems like the exciting part because then you'll start receiving RSVPs! I think I'm probably sending out mine at the end of next week.

Re: Where are the November Brides???
I see no harm in sending them out a little earlier. Then the guests have no excuse not to RSVP on time!

I can't believe how November is sneaking up on us. I just hired our day of coordinator tonight. I'm finishing up our invites this week. My first fitting is September 7th. Time is flying!

Re: Where are the November Brides???
I need to schedule my fitting for next month! Well, all I need is the bustle done. And I must get shoes with a slight platform so the bottom of the dress comes up a little higher. If that has to be altered, it will be such a pain.Oh, and I went to Leonard's yesterday, and picked out the menu and what I want in the cake. I put for yellow cake with chocolate mousse filling. YUM.

Re: Where are the November Brides???
I am sending out my invitations today. I'm also getting married 11/5/04. My FH wanted them to go out this past Monday, but things have been really hectic. I just had my bridal shower this past Sunday at the Three Village Inn. It was really nice.I'm glad to hear that there are other people that are working on the invitations still. I was starting to feel like I was late.

Re: Where are the November Brides???
Nov. bride reporting for duty. Nov. 28th, giving Thanks.I have accomplished a lot and have a ton left to do. Favors, finishing invite pictures (we're having illustrations on them and then my friend will send them to her printer - she's a graphic artist). I hope to get them out by mid-Sept. or late Sept. 2 mos. prior to wedding is typical...
I need my shoes and undergarments as well as getting my bridesmaid's shoes figured out. Did y'all get dyable shoes for your maids? I couldn't care less, but my mother thinks it's most appropriate. I heard Payless & another store in Carle Place (?) work well, believe it or not. Guess what?! I know that my shower is this Sunday. How crappy to have figured it out but my mother doesn't know I know. Sigh.
Must get all my maid's and mother and FH gifts...not to mention wedding rings. Gulp. After Labor Day, for sure...

Re: Where are the November Brides???
Sounds like you're keeping busy. Isn't it nice knowing a graphic artist? My FH is a graphic artist as well and I've definitely put him to work these past few months. It saves $$$ too.I didn't ask my bridesmaids to get dyeable shoes because the dress is a double-daced taffeta which is very hard to match. There is a black irridescent tint to the dress, so I just asked them to wear closed-toed black shoes.
Is anyone asking their maids to wear their hair up or down? I was going to ask that they wear it up, but I don't know if that's being pushy. Don't know what to do about that...

Re: Where are the November Brides???
I didn't want to force my maids to wear dyeable shoes so the hair I'm definitely leaving alone. 2 have straight, the other 2 curly/wavy so I figured they could either use my hairdresser (when I book that - have 2 choices) or just do it themselves. Very low maintenance.Wow, your FH's doing the invites. Terrific!

Re: Where are the November Brides???
Actually, believe it or not, he didn't do the wedding invites. Only because we wanted something very elegant and simple. So we ordered them from one of those large invitation books through his printer. He did do the invites for our engagement party and for my shower which came out great. He also helped my mother with tags for the favors and games for my shower. He created the recipe and 'advice for the bride' cards to match the theme and invite for the shower.
Yeah, I don't think that I'll ask them to wear their hair up. Some women that I work with had done that so I thought that was normal.

Re: Where are the November Brides???
I'm not having my girls wear dyable. One is wearing burgundy with black, and the other one is wearing all black. I just asked them to make sure they are material shoes -- not shiny leather. Also, because I'm only 5'1' and they are both 5'10ish, I asked them not to wear a too-high heal.In terms of hair, I told them I don't care, but I'd prefer if they either wear it ALL up or ALL down. I don't love inbetween styles. I'm paying for the girl to come to the house to do their hair, so there is less fuss.
FH and I were up until 1.30am working on the invites last night. We were on a roll and wanted to finish them. They are all printed, stuffed, sealed, stamped and we also wax sealed them. It all seems so real now that the invites are done! I wanted them post marked September 1, but...we'll see if I can wait that long...

Re: Where are the November Brides???
My girls are just wearing black fabric shoes.I'm short also 5'0. They wont wear stiletto's
As far as their hair I would prefer it all up. But if they wear it 1/2 up 1/2 down I'm fine with that also.
I'm hoping to have my envelopes back by this
weekend So I can start stuffing away.
