Reasonable reception hall prices in NYC?
Anyone have any suggestions for reasonable reception sites in NYC/LI? My parents threw out the idea of the Water Club - anyone been? Supposedly it's lovely right on the water.

Re: Reasonable reception hall prices in NYC?
What do you mean by reasonable? Everyone has a different threshold. Manhattan is always going to be more expensive than LI.

Re: Reasonable reception hall prices in NYC?
I THINK (without really figuring this all out yet with my parents) that reasonable would fall anywhere from $2k to $5k. I would LOVE to have part of the reception outdoors, but I'm also really flexible on that.I heard Carlyle on the Green was GORGEOUS. How much would something like that run for a saturday night wedding, 200 guests, in may-oct.?

Caryle quoted me $170 a head for early May 2005.Around 200 people- plus tax & grat.. it's like $35 to $40,000.

Re: Reasonable reception hall prices in NYC?
hmmm..Well, I can tell you that I believe we got the least expensive quote ($54 per person) for a hall was from Leonard's and that is for a Friday afternoon in April for 80 people. If you do the math, that is $4320, not including 15% gratuity and tax. So, if $5K is your max for the hall, you will want to change the date, time, and # of guests.

Candela is so pretty too!
Not really an outdoor space- unless you count the area on the sidewalk.

Re: Reasonable reception hall prices in NYC?
If you have any family members who are or were in the military, my hall is very resonable and on the water on the LI sound. It also has an outdoor area for the cocktail hour. In the summer, on a Sat. night it averages from 70 per person for a buffet to over a 100 a person for all the menu upgrades. And the best part is no tax since its a federal institution. Big savings there. Its a beautiful location. FM if that fits your needs and you have a sponser.Welcome New Vendors
