Did you say your ceremony was 1/2 hour earlier than it really is?
When we did our invitations the woman suggested we say 10:30 am rather than 11am to ensure most people aren't late. But do you think they are going to be bored sitting around for a 1/2 hour....I guess its too late now...but I was just wonderining if I'm the only one who did this. Thanks

We didn't do that, but now I'm wishing we had. Oh well, if people miss the ceremony than that's their problem.

This is a good idea as long as the reception place doesn't mind that your guests arrived so early. Then, you are surely to have everyone there including the latecomers.

Call your church just to give them a headsup and see what they say. I think it would be safe to say that you're not the first one to do that. I don't think you should worry about it, it will be fine and it will ensure that most people will actually be there in time for the ceremony.

We're getting married at the hall and they do an arrival time of 30 minutes before the ceremony to ensure that everyone gets there on time and no one is walking in on your ceremony and being disruptive. They provide fresh fruit and champagne during that half hour.

On our invites we wrote 3:00, but it's really 3:15.

We are inviting guests 1/2 hour before the ceremony begins as well. the harrison house (where the ceremony is) will be serving champagne and strawberries. It will also allow guests to be escorted to their seats, and say their initial hellos to other family members.

i think if people are sitting and waiting for 30-45 mins for the ceremony to start they are going to get a little annoyed. I just said ceremony at 3pm, I will make sure it starts by 3:15 the latest (God willing).

Honestly, I don't think anyone will be bored. They talk with people they haven't seen and you wouldn't beliee the amount of people that show up as the doors are closing to the church. I wouldn't worry.

Our ceremony starts at 11:30 but on the invitation it says 11:00...people wont be bored..I dont think that many people will start coming in until 11:15 or so.
