Did you say your ceremony was 1/2 hour earlier than it really is?

Re: Did you say your ceremony was 1/2 hour earlier than it really is?
I'm Jewish which might make it a little different. For most Jewish weddings, there is an invite time which is 1/2 hour (or longer) prior to the actual ceremony time. I sometimes forget that not everyone does that and I have been a little late sometimes! Oops
I think 15 mins to 1/2 hour is pretty normal.

I didn't do for 2 reasons. First, one of my pet peeves is when I show up on time for something and have to sit around waiting for the late people to show up. I feel like I am being penalized for doing what I was told.Second, we are having it at a church and there is a wedding ahead of us and I did not want to risk any confusion between the two events.

I didn't do this.I hate when I'm on time and I have to wait for 1/2 hour for the ceremony to start. I could have been doing other things!

This is how I feel about it - I would be bored just waiting for things to happen and annoyed to have my time purposely wasted.

We said a half an hour earlier because we are having hospitality (which is some danishes, ruggelach and fruit and juice for the guests before the wedding starts)

I will be doing it on my invitations. Since I am getting married at the reception hall, I am having a welcome tray waiting with champagne, strawberries and cheese & crackers for those who are on time!

we did...we were the first wedding tht day, so it didn't matter if ppl were early. Plus the church was in Queens, so it took most of them that long to find parking anyway
