Help--need hair, makeup, veil advice!

Hello Brides!

I know nothing about weddings, and am getting married in 4 months! Can you tell I'm not from NY?? Anyway, here are my questions: how many hair/makeup trials should I go on? Also, (and this one is dumb--forgive me)--I want to wear my hair in a french twist, with just a veil hanging in the back. Do you take the veil out when you go to the reception, or does it stay in all night?? Is there a rule about this??

There is no rule about the veil. Do whatever you want. I kept mine on all night, but know several people that took it off before the reception.

As for trials, there isn't a specific # to go on. Just go until you find someone you like. I had my make up done by Jillian from Gorgeous Faces, she is a vendor on here and many brides have used her. Good Luck!

Hi and Congrats!
Check out the vendors/boards - a lot of girls have used these hair/makeup vendors. I don't have any info since I used my regular salon.
You can go for as many trials as you like but remember some cost money and it could get expensive

As for your veil - that's a personal choice. I wore my hair down and my veil all night, I knew this would be the only time I would ever wear it...

hey...welcome to the boards...

I went to 3 trials before I found a hair & make up person that I liked the most... it's all about your preference and what you like...

I am leaving my veil on all night b/c it's your one day to wear it... some girls take if off...once again, it's all about what you want to do...

there are many 'wedding traditions' but now a days you can really do whatever makes you happy and make the wedding unique to your personality...
