Well ladies, the news I was hoping I wouldn't be getting came in just now.

I had my biopsy secretly last week (didn't want to tell anyone I was having it until I had the results). My left breast biopsy came back positive for cancerous cells.

*sigh*

So that means at age 29, I will now be fighting a second battle against cancer (before is was ovarian). But it seems extremely early and the doctor thinks surgery will remove it and I shouldn't have to go through chemo. (I refuse to do it.) So, that is good. I do not know when I will have the surgery. Probably mid December.

I am torn about how to feel. I am more concerned about my issues with FH right now, so maybe it's good that I concentrate on that.

EDIT: I am not going to make a big deal about it. I am not scared, most likely because I have been here before and I know the drill. I just wanted to tell someone. I don't want to be known as the cancer girl or anything.

However, I do wish I knew where this was coming from. No one in my family, for the past 4 generations, has ever had cancer. My original docter states that I could be prone to cancer because my mother smoked while she was pregnant with me. I wish I could find a way to prevent it.

If there is anything we can do to help please just say the word. My grandmother had breast cancer and that puts us at risk - but without knowing if my mom would have had it that makes me more nervous. I'm pulling for you!
