My November 6, 2004 East Wind Wedding Review!!!
Pre-Wedding PartiesEngagement Party-John Harvards-(A+)
The food was excellent, service was great and place looked great.
Bridal Shower-Courtyard Cafe-(A)
Place was adorable, great service and great food!
Bachelorette Party-Lips-(A)
The place was awesome, waitresses were awesome and food was great. A little pricey though.
The Wedding
Invitations-www.indianweddinginvitations.com-(A-)
My invitations were awesome, and such good quality! They were scrolls made of handmade paper and imported from India. They were way cheaper then any scroll I could find in the US (or anywhere else for that matter!)
Calligrapher- (C)
She did nice work, but the color she used was wrong. She did a sample for me in gold and then when she did my invitations she used silver!!! I was so mad. SHe was apologetic and made some excuse, but didn't charge me.
Wedding Gown- Timeless Bridal- (B-)
While the dress was great, and high quality, the lady there was very snotty and they added a lot of 'surprise' charges.
Bridesmaid's Gowns- The Wedding Center of Commack-(A-)
The gowns were awesome and I ordered them in a custom color. No one could come close to their price! But the ladies that work there can be a little air-headed and the seamstress had an attitude.
Children's Gowns- at Attias Flea Market- (A)
The lady was so nice and they are so cheap! THe dresses were awesome and looked great. She even ordered them in the sizes and color I needed.
Shoes- Grace Shoes from (C, A)
The Shoes looked awesome and were unique, but my feet were killing me fast, and that usually doesn't happen to me. But the website that I got them from was the cheapest and they shpped them so fast!
Tuxedoes- White Tie Tuxedo (B)
They had good prices but they did get a bunch of the pants sizes wrong. It's a good thing the guys tried them on before they took them home. But they were nice and accommodating.
Groom's shoes- (A+)
The shoes were nice, cheap and shipped in 1 day!!!
MOB Gown- Alta Moda- (B)
They made it custom and were about half the price of all the fancy MOB dress shops. The lady did try to get away with doing some chintzy beading but my mom didn't let her get away with it.
Nails-Angel tips- (A)
I went to the one in Smithtown. I got acrylic tips and she did a nice job. I had to take them off after 4 or 5 days though cause I felt like my nails couldn't breath :)
Hair- Technicolors- (B)
I did my own hair but I got Nicole for my mom an grandma. She did a good job but she was 40 minutes late, which screwed everything up.
East Wind- (B)
Our wedding was at the Inn at East Wind-Southampton Ballroom. The food was good but the bridal attendant wasn't that attentive (though she was nice) and the Maitre D didn' coordinate very well (though she was nice too). Mike, the catering manager, came through with everything he promised!
Florist-Bunny's- (B)
They did a great job with the bouquets and centerpieces. They could have done better for the ceremony but no one would notice.
Photo & Video-Daniel Krieger Photography-(A)
They were very nice and reasonably priced. I already have my proofs back!!!!
Band-Franklin Wayne (Heart & Soul)-(B)
While they sounded awesome, one of the female lead singers was replaced and they didn't tell me! I was not happy about that. They were still awesome though.
Ceremony music-After Hours-(A-)
We had a string quartet and they sounded great! I just think theya re a little prices, but they were way better then any other quartet we heard.
The Brunch
Marriott in Islandia -(D)
It looked nice, but that's about it. The service was HORRIBLE! My guests were pouring their own coffee!!! There was one waitress and it was 80 people! ANd the cakes and pies for dessert were frozen in the middle!!!
The Honeymoon
American Airlines-(A)
Flights were early and smooth
Hyatt Regency in Maui-(B)
THe staff was great and the resort was awsome! The rooms were nothing special really though, but it depends on your priorities.
Hyatt Waikiki- (B-)
Again, good staff but the room was nothing! And it was smaller. But it has a 3 story shopping mall! Again, depends on your priorities.
If you want to know about any Hawaiin attractions or you want more info about any of the people I used please FM me.
