Baby shower etiquette...I just got an invite..HELP
the shower is Dec 4th (yes, I got the invite a week in advance!!) and it's a 3 hr and 45 min drive...I'd have to go by myself without DH and the only person I'll know is the girl who is PG (and maybe her husbands mom if she is there!). We did go to their wedding....Do I go or not (it's 4 days before I leave for NY so I'll have a lot going on)
If I don't go, do I send a gift to the shower or when she has the baby (we plan on going to visit them)

I wouldn't go unless it was someone I really liked. But to go just to go, no I wouldn't do it.I think you can send a gift to the shower, or have it mailed to the mommy-to-be's home. And then bring a little gift when you see the baby.

I say don't go but send a gift. I went to bridal shower and didn't know anyone and was by myself the whole time. It was horrible.

I would NOT go and I would send a gift saying 'here's a little something and let's get together soon' that would be too far for me to drive by myself!

A little last minute there with the invite, eh??
I would do like everyone else said...actually I'm in the EXACT same situation (same date too) except the party is in Brooklyn and I already have to early committments that day. So I figured if they couldn't give me adequate notice, I'm not feeling 'guilty' about not going. I'm sending a small gift though...
