Re: Where to stay in Aruba on HM? ( PLEASE GIVE ADVICE)
We recently honeymooned in Aruba and stayed at the Radisson. They have the nicest grounds of the high rises and I believe they are the only hotel with a balcony where you can sit (the other hotels have balconies, but only to stand). All the rooms had mini bars and there were 2 pools (no swim up bar in any of the pools though
)Ask for the 'one cool honeymoon' card - its free and gets you discounts all over the Island. Tell EVERYONE it's your honeymoon esp. when making reservations - they always give you the best table, or free glass of champagne!! I strongly recommend leaving the hotels for dinner. There are so many excellent restaurants that are a cab ride away if you don't rent a car. Our favorites: Marandi (beach front restaurant, nice atmosphere, go for sunset!!), Madame Jeanettes, El Gaucho, Flying Fishbone (another beachfront restaurant).
Anything else - feel free to ask!

We went to Aruba on our HM and stayed at the Marriott. Actually, all of their rooms have balconies that are very spacious so you can't go wrong there either. They also have the one cool honeymoon card too. I really don't think you can go wrong staying there or the Radisson.

I went there twice and I stayed at the Divi Divi Hotel and the Divi Tamajaran. These hotels are right on the beach. I'm not sure which one of these has it but they have little 'casitas' or houses on the beach. You just open the door and there's the ocean. If you want more of a relaxing atmosphere, these are two good hotels. Divi Tamajaran is all inclusive too.

Re: Where to stay in Aruba on HM? ( PLEASE GIVE ADVICE)
We stayed at the Bucuti Beach resort and it was perfect! It is in the low-rise section, near the Tamarijn and the Divi, but not an all inclusive. My husband and I checked out a lot of the other places while we were, and agreed that the beach at the Bucuti and the 2 or 3 places next to it are the best because they are the largest and least crowded. They cater mostly to couples and it is a very quiet, romantic place to stay, which is what we were looking for (I think I saw just one kid at the hotel while we were there.) Their pool is not that spectacular, but the beach more than made up for it. I think all of their rooms have balconies, that are spacious enough for two chairs. The one thing I would recommend is to think about what you want to do while you are there. If you are looking to do all the water sports and activities on a regular basis, you might be better off staying at one of the high rise hotels, like the Marriott or the Radisson, since they seem to be in the middle of all those places. We were looking for the best beach and a very quiet place, and decided that the Bucuti was best for us. We just took a cab if we wanted to get out and do other things.

Re: Where to stay in Aruba on HM? ( PLEASE GIVE ADVICE)
We stayed at LaCabana - If you don't mind children around, it was very nice. They had a few big slides that we had a blast on. The beach by the low rises were so much nicer than those by the high rise hotels. We visited the Hyatt...it was spectacular. If money is not an option...I'd stay there. The ambiance was amazing. If not, you can always go and hang out there for a night. You should eat there if you can.
Keep in mind, you don't spend a lot of time in the room anyway...the island is great! Have a great time!

I stayed at the Marriot Stellers Hotel and it was amazing. They have a huge pool that has a lot of activitiy going on and you can go over to the Marriot Timeshares 2 other pools which are as nice and big too. All the pools have a pool bar in the middle of the pool too. They also have those little huts on the beach that you can rent out. I actaully had a wrap around balcony that was AMAZING..it was more expensive but the little balconies were very big and spacious. They did not have a mini bar but we ordered from room service. The rooms were quite large as well.
The Radisson is very nice too...i just didn't like that they had so many trees in their lobby area - it blocked out a lot of the balconies view of the ocean and it was set back a lot further then the other hotels.
I don't think the Hyatt has balconies and i believe the Wyndham has construction going on there. I did not like the Holiday Inn (reminded me of the 70's).
The Renissance is very hip and nice and in the downtown area....I liked being on the strip witht he other hotels. The Renissance is about 5 miles away from them. They have the best casino though.
They also have an all inclusive Allegro there...they had the craziest people....people hung out at hte pool at all hours of the night and the casino was always hopping.
I did not see the low rise hotels. They were in another area of the island and the Divi was damaged by Hurricane Ivan and was closed when i was there.

I stayed at the Hyatt for a week 2 years ago, and it was fab. My friend was there at the same time with her family, and they stayed at the Marriott. I went down to see her, and the hotel was very nice. Also, she came down to the casino at the Hyatt and had dinner there also...so you can always use some of the facilities.

WE STAYED AT THE RENAISSANCE! I loved it absolutely loved it! We got the Beach suites and they have a huge pool, kind of like a lagoon and a place where you can go swimming in the ocean. The rooms are huge! We had a king bed, kitchen, living room and full balcony. I personally loved being in the middle of the city because you are close to EVERYTHING and we only took a bus a couple times to go up by the high rises to eat. All the good bars are in town. The only thing that sucks since you are in the major city is the you can hear the airplanes landing, otherwise I de stressed and had a blast!
