Anyone else start dieting today or this week?
Here it goes... the race is on! 11 months to lose 25lbs. I've been excercising for the past three days and went out and bought all healthy foods. Anyone else start this recently? Good luck to all of you... I miss Dorito's already! Ha!

Re: Anyone else start dieting today or this week?
I've tried to get back on South Beach. I had a lot of success when I first did it (14 lbs in 2 weeks) but it was hard keeping away from breads/pastries at the free lunches my job has. I've done well so far though--yogurt & cheese for breakfast and then a chef's salad and yogurt for lunch. We'll see how long it lasts
I'm almost fully recovered from my knee & ankle surgery that I had this summer so hopefully I can start up at the gym sometime this month as well. I'm determined to look good in those wedding pictures!

I went to the gym for the first time in ages on Sunday, and am happy to report that I lasted 20 minutes on the glider! Ok, so the resistance wasn't too high...but anyway...Good luck everyone!

I am going back to the gym for the first time in a long time tonight. I am in a race to lose as close to 45lb in 5 months as possible... I know its a lot but... as close as I can get is better than nothing.I thought about South Beach... I need to get that book... I have no idea how it works.
Good luck girls!

South Beach is really great. FH and I did it together which made is much easier. It's not too hard to follow but Phase 1 is really strict--no bread, no drinking. The no drinking part is hard for me because all my friends are lushes
But that's how I lost 14 lbs in 2 weeks. Phase 1 only lasts 2 weeks and then you move to Phase 2 where you drop like 1-3 lbs a week.

Do I really need the book or can I find the info elsewhere?

I think there might be a sample menu on some website. I found the book useful though because it has a lot of recipes (so you're not just eating George Foreman Grill chicken every night!) and it has lists as to what foods to eat and which ones to avoid. It also gives you sample menus for each day of Phase 1 and a few samples for Phases 2 and 3.

Re: Anyone else start dieting today or this week?
Me and FH started yesterday. I wanna lose 5-10 pounds and he wants to lose 30. It's great to be doing this together bc we can motivate each other. We bought all this healthy good and exercised yesterday-now we are too sore today to do anything. Good luck everyone!

Re: Anyone else start dieting today or this week?
I started WW about 14 weeks ago and I am down 18 lbs!! I am on maintenance now, and as long as I keep me current weight within a 2 pound range, up or down, for 6 weeks, I become a lifetime memeber!!FH did it as well, just with help from me. Damn men...he dropped 10 lbs in 1 week!! He is now down about 20 lbs in 11 weeks. He has 10 more to go!!

Re: Anyone else start dieting today or this week?
No, not a diet but gym and working out at home. I order the Core Secrets DVD before the holiday and just blew up the ball today.I struggled to get into my jeans on Saturday. I had to lay on the bed to zip them up.
I hover at 124 - 130 lbs and am afraid to get on the scale until I think my body is back to normal.I planned to try on a wedding dress this week but I may not go since I think it would not reflect how the dress will really look. Even FI gained weight over the holiday. He says it's my down south family and their constant cooking and feeding us since 12/23. LOL It didn't help that I made my dad's famous carrot cake with 24 oz of cream cheese icing (with 3 sticks of butter and tons of sugar just in the icing). FI ate a ton of it too.
We ate huge meals for breakfast lunch and dinner while in VA and we at dinner twice for New Year's Eve (southern tradition of eating various items at midnight).
I must get back in gear. I was 119 when FI and I started dating and I loved that but haven't seen it in months. I'm cool with 127 - 130 though but think I surpassed that on this trip.
