Re: Having your Ceremony at your Reception Site?

I don't have anything myself but mine's also going to be inside. I was lucky enough to find Thatched that has it's own ceremony room instead of having to divide up the reception hall. that was something that was driving me crazy when we were looking for halls

Re: Having your Ceremony at your Reception Site?

My hall has a seperate room inside and an area outside. SO I am hoping for nice weather so I can be outside. Keep your fingers crossed!
As for the flowers, my hall has a package from a house florists for the ceremony. I am using the house florist for all my flowers, so they will be decorating everything. From my experience, you make the arrangements with your florist. But talk to your hall.

Re: Having your Ceremony at your Reception Site?

We are paying for the ceremony site also, but the way it was explained to me was they have to pay their help a half hour more. I can understand that if you use their facility for longer than just the reception, you would have to pay for the extra salaries. I would use the centerpieces on pillars for the flowers outside. Then just bring them in.

My hall provides the trellis or chuppah (our choice) and 2 tall flower pot thingys for next to the trellis. The florist should provide the aisle runner. Everything else is up to you.

Here's a pic (courtesy of Annette's wedding at the Cottage) of the ceremony setup in the atrium at Milleridge Cottage (where I'm getting married).

We had our reception inside. Flower Michele did decorations and we provided our own aisle runner.

Re: Having your Ceremony at your Reception Site?

I think I am going to be having mine at the hall now too. I am hoping for good weather to have it inside. However, if God forbid it rains, I am looking into renting a white tent for outside. That way no one will get wet- I don't really want to do it inside half my reception room.

Re: Having your Ceremony at your Reception Site?

PS. The only thing my place provides is an altar/stage and chairs. Anything else I want, I'd have to get on my own.

This is the inside and outside of our ceremony area. The hall provides all of the flowers you see. Our cereemony fee included all.
