Posted by cocoa today was sucky!!! our superindenant-ish person is coming this week and boy oh boy, do we feel it!!! i swear, everyone comes into our rooms telling us EVERYTHING THAT IS WRONG!!! is there anything right? even IF something was right, it would never be mentioned -- only focus on the negative ... what a great motivational tactic ... (imagine that's what we did with our students?!)

(Any NYC teachers especially!)) that is one thing i try NOT to do to my kids...for instance, when i 'grade' their papers, i always list the positive things they did, even if it is something like 'handed in on time'. just say 'you know, your charts look great, but we still need to work on blah blah blah. you're doing good, but we need to make the school look amazing.' at least the custodians always say that my room is the cleanest b/c i make my kids sweep at the end of the day
