I need a cop or a lawyer now (nassau county) Im CRYING - i dont know what to do... someone please help me.

on the way home we came to the light at our corner.. this guy was driving on coming REALLY REALLY Slow.. strange like.. so the light turns green and he doesnt move.. so we wait and then make our left.

We drove into our drive way and a car pulls up behind us and turn on the lights.. it's a cop

We got a ticket for not yielding right of way..

They treated me like a nat when I tried to ask questions.. he was MEAN said it's cold out and he wanted to leave? REALLY like I was standing out in that cold while he was in his car.. I KNOW its cold I just wanna know how the heck we broke the law.. we WAITED, we YIELDED he didnt move!!

Im crying.. im so angry.. we have to be in court on 2/2

I need help.. i can't think!

We cant afford this.. $105 and we did nothing wrong.... my insurance will go up.. this is a bad time..

There has to be something we can do!

I certainly agree you should talk to a lawyer. I am not sure of the legal aspect of this but it doesn't seem right.

When I asked how he could give us a ticket if he saw what we saw he wouldnt say what he saw...!!!!!!

and told me..'I didnt give you a ticket I gave the driver a ticket'

omg thats awful! I would definetly call your lawyer and tell them what happened and when you go to court fight it.

You can fight it in court. Plead not guilty.

You can get a traffic lawyer. I think they usually hang around at the DMV looking for people to represent.

What do I do? walk around saying 'HEY IM LOOKING FOR A LAWYER?'

Ive never been so angry in my life and I've NEVER had a ticket issued so unfairly before.. im dumbfounded..

Speeding tickets, changing lanes without signaling..all that I've done (mostly speeding) and NEVER argued with my tickets.. this one is so unfair.. I feel lost.

Ronie, definitely not fair. I know a few girls' DH are cops on here...see if you can get a response from one of them. The guy sounds like a total jerk.

Also a number of girls on here that are lawyers, I'm sure someone will help ya out.

Believe it or not if I was in that situation... thats exactly what I would do. Walk in there on a day you have off (not the day of your court date) and see if you can find one. Ask the clerks behind the desk if there are any lawyers around. Look for the guys in suits.

Tell the lawyer your story and see if its worth being represented. 99 times out of 100... somebody fighting a ticket that has a lawyer will get a much reduced sentance.

I have heard of lawyers being able to help people with stuff as bad as DWIs.

But I don't think they are cheap... might have to see if its worth the cost and effort.

Veronica- Plead not guilty. Nassau County tickets are so easy to get out of. They have lawyers there that plead the charges down. Tell them you did nothing wrong. I'll go with ya if you want. If your record is clean, then its even better.

I don't have any advice, got a speeding ticket a year and a half ago that I tried desperately to get out of, or reduced...It was in Suffolk so no luck--but somehow my insurance hasn't been raised yet...

You can't win in suffolk when your speeding. My lawyer caught the cop lying and the judge still believed the cop. You have a hell of a better chance in nassau.
