Postage on Invitations

What is the average price stamp that most invitations need, is it .49 or .60 or more?

Thx

Re: Postage on Invitations

I believe the average invite is about $0.60 in postage. I would suggest you prepare one and bring it in to the post office first to weight - this way you know for sure. I also believe the response cards are regulare rate - $0.37.

Re: Postage on Invitations

Weird, I just did this at lunch. Put together a full invitation (incl direction cards, etc) and bring it to the post office - they'll weight it for you there and let you know. Anything between 1-2 oz is a 60cent stamp. The rsvps are 37cents since they're just little cards.

Re: Postage on Invitations

The lady I ordered them from said to expect to pay .60 to send. If anyone wants to use stamps there is a nice set available called the wedding combo (I think) of 20 each of the .60 and .37. The flower on the stamps compliment on another. You can see them on www.usps.com

Re: Postage on Invitations

there is this company that the usps licensed out that you can make stamps out of your pictures. The price is obviously more than a regular .60 cent stamp, but I was just wondering, since I think we're going to do this and see how much more we're looking at spending....

we were considering that. It's called Photo Stamp

link: http://photo.stamps.com/

about 20 bucks for a sheet of 20 $.60 stamps. Little pricey, but worth it if you're anal like I am and don't want a peach flower on her invite.

On a completely different note: I went to weigh my STD last week and the Post Office dude wouldn't sell me 60 cent stamps because my envelope only needed 42 cents. He tried to sell me on putting 5 stamps across the envelope and when I told him that I didn't want to do that, he insisted that I HAD to. That if I bought a 60 cent stamp, I was wasting money. I politely informed him that it was, afterall, MY MONEY to waste if I wanted to. He got visibly annoyed with me. And insisted on knowing why I wouldn't but 5 stamps on the outside of my envelope???

WTH???

I came about an inch from decking him.

I looked at this cause I was not enthused with my postage selections- it was double the price so I figured- just not worth it..

I got my Garden Bouquet Wedding Combo pack in the mail yesterday-- whatever.. they are stamps.

Oh, and I weighed my invites at my office on our mail scale- 60 cents.. I think that is kinda standard.

Re: Postage on Invitations

I also did this today!
I lucked out though, my whole invitation is also .37 cents becuase it is rectangular not square and didn't weigh that much!
I order the "love" stamps from usps.com, I am not a big flower girl unless they are daisies of course. They have the "love" stamp in both 37 cents and 60 cents. They also told me that the new "love" stamps will be coming out in mid-feb. SO if you can wait there will be more stamps to chose from.

Re: Postage on Invitations

i got the Reagan stamp for our reply cards, it'll be out 2/9/05 so i pre-ordered it from the website. frank was in his funeral and loved him as a president, so i know he'll be happy with the choice. gotta go weight the whole thing though and see what the total invite needs for postage.
