My FH just told me he thinks the wedding...

is a waste of money.

He says that we could buy a car for that amount of money and that he thinks an extravagent wedding is a waste. I am so upset right now, I don't know what to do.

Oh, I'm sorry but yea, men sometimes seem to have that 'take' on the wedding. Some men see the stress and the amount of time that goes into it and want to try to 'fix' the problem. Their idea may be true but its true, if its important to YOU then trust me, when he sees the final product on the day of the wedding, it'll all be worth it

I am so sorry. My FH says the same thing from time to time and yes it is a huge expense BUT it is your wedding and you decided/have to decide together where the money is best put. It is upsetting though.

Men don't understand that some of us have dreamed about our weddings since we were little. Don't let him get you down. I'm sure by the time he sees it all come together he'll be changing his tune. Hang in there.

Men don't have a clue. Most women have been planning their wedding since they were 5. It is because we know it is our big chance to literally be a princess and marry our prince charming. Guys just don't think that way. Don't worry - my FI said something similar to me in the beginning, be he has since come around. Chin up.

I sometimes think that our wedding is a waste of money. When I think of all the other things we could do with the money, it's hard not to think that. FH and I talk about how we could have a house instead....But at the same time I really want the big fancy wedding which is why we're doing it!

I wouldn't let what he said get you down too much.

most men think that, either about the wedding or a nice ring. And I think at time us girls thing that way, too. I wouldn't let it get you down unless it keeps up this way. Maybe it is just a phase right now or he is getting worried about finances. if you think it is a finance thing, I would talk to him about it. maybe there is something the 2 of you could spend alittle less on and it would make him feel better. Or maybe he just needs to talk.

Nicole - Actually I was the only thinking along the same lines of your FI. I am so glad I did my wedding. It was a perfect compromise of what we both wanted and I wouldn't change a thing. I'll talk to your FI and straighten him out for ya!
