Crows Nest...anyone been there?

Hey Ladies,
Just wondering if anyone is having their reception at the Crows Nest in Montauk? Their weekend package sounds almost too good to be true. Even if you have been to a wedding there, I would love to hear what you think
Thanks!

Re: Crows Nest...anyone been there?

I have never been to a wedding there but that is where I got engaged. We were there once on vacation and saw a wedding going on. It looked beautiful.

Re: Crows Nest...anyone been there?

I've only been there for dinner. The food is fantastic and the view is beautiful!

I have heard that there are a lot of hidden costs and it's not as great a deal as they make it out to be, but it's definitely worth looking into.

I've only been there for lunch and dinner. The food is out of this world!

I wondered...it seems to good to be true. And you know when it is too good to be true it usually is. Thanks for your help!

Re: Crows Nest...anyone been there?

We too loved loved the idea of the weekend thing. We went there & saw a wedding that was going on, then we went back for a tasting. We went to the restaurant Valentines weekend last year. I liked my dish. However my fiance got stuffed lobster. The waitress told us that it was stuffed with 'fish parts.' Not quite sure what that was. But for someplace that claims to be the best seafood caterer on the east end, we were suprised that it wasnt real crab meat.

As far as the wedding package. It is a good deal...but what you see are the basic packages. They 'recommend' that you get the bigger tent, with sides & upgrade the lighting fixtures & the dance floor. It is a good deal, but prepare to have a lot of add ons. For 200 people I think we would have been looking at $ 25K + tip & tax. It just got a little bit out of our range.

If you are looking for a casual setting, I think it would be a great party. The setting is pretty, although the beach is only a few feet long. The only bathroom is in the restaurant, which feels like an old boat...or you can rent a room & let your guests use that. Please feel free to send a forum mail. :) GOOD LUCK.
