Re: FMIL Wants to wear Off-White

I really don't think you're Bridezilla...but she's the one that will look out of place...and no matter what color she wears it will be obvious that you're the bride! you might want to mention it may not look nice in picture...with both of you in white...what does FH say?

my FMIL is wearing 'champagne' not far off white...

Re: FMIL Wants to wear Off-White

JMO but I dont see how anyone wearing any color could possibly take attention away from a bride at a wedding. It doesn't mean that much to me. My mom or FMIL would nevr wear white or off white because of their sizes. They just wouldnt be comfortable. If anything, they would wear champagne, but I have not decided on colors yet.

I agree. There really nothing that is going to take away from the bride...everyone knows who the bride is. If anything, its the FMIL who is going to look out of place because its really not a color for FMIL to wear at a wedding.

Tell her that color makes her look washed out and OLDER. That should do the trick.

If not, tell her NO off white or white or any color your BMs are wearing.

Re: FMIL Wants to wear Off-White

No, you are not a Bridezilla!

I don't know if it would bother me, unless it was white white. I don't think I would like it, but I would never say you can't wear that.

The bride will always be the one people are looking at and they will be saying 'what was that MIL thinking'.

Re: FMIL Wants to wear Off-White

NO WAY! A friend of mine at work...her mother wore on off white ballgown to the wedding and it made this bride miserable! Plus it looks stupid and definitely like the mother is jealous of you and trying to compete. Put your foot down!!!

Re: FMIL Wants to wear Off-White

My FMIL wore off-white to her daughter's wedding and it actually looked very nice. She is so much older that I don't think anyone would confuse you with her. I think she should have consulted you first however. My FMIL got her dress and I still don't even know the color.

this is just one of the many things that makes me want to scream about her!!!!!

Re: FMIL Wants to wear Off-White

I was pretty easy going as far and what people wore but this would be where i put my foot down

It isn't about having the spot like taken away from the bride or someone mistaking the bride...

It is just ettiquette imo...And i would be pissed!
