Teachers-student invites to church
For all the teachers out there.........How did you invite the your students to the ceremony at the church? I was planning on sending flyers towads the end of school, since my wedding is in July. Any suggestions.......wording for flyers??? I would love to see my kids there.

Re: Teachers-student invites to church
Hello there fellow teacher! Not married yet, but I love the flyer idea. Think wording should reflect the grade you teach. I teach first grade, so I would write a cute little rhyming poem or some kind of decoding puzzle.I'm getting married in October, on a school day no less! I thought about asking the principal to make an announcement at the end of the day. My wedding falls on a half-day schedule, so I don't know how many will actually show up for a 3:30 mass. After nine years of teaching I hope a lot come!
BTW Some will actually be a part of the mass--choir and altar servers, plus a few to pass out the programs and other items. So, there's always word of mouth. The parish where I'm getting married is also my school parish, so that helps too!
Let me know what you come up with!

Re: Teachers-student invites to church
I was thinking the same thing....thinking about making a cute little invite on the computer and giving it out the last day of school. I would love to see them there and I have had my girls (fifth grade) ask to be bridesmaids....so cute!

Re: Teachers-student invites to church
I invited my students to Flowerfield (where my ceremony took place). I typed up a letter on pretty wedding stationary inviting them to attend the ceremony and take some pictures with me immediately after. (This was how they transitioned to leave). They loved being part of it. It was so wonderful for me to see them too! I had the parents rsvp so I could tell FF how many people would attend the ceremony as well. FF was great, they served the kids lemonade, fruit and cookies at my hospitality.

Re: Teachers-student invites to church
I wish I could invite mine to the church, but we are getting married out of state, so I don't think they would pay the airfare if they are not invited to the PARTY. ha.

Re: Teachers-student invites to church
Even though I'm getting married in Aug. My school is yr round so I think I may just post my invitation on the door so the parents can get the info. Beside that it will be word of mouth. I hope my little ones can come. The would be sooo cute there! I teach pre-k and K but my kindergarten will be gone by then so it will just by my little 3 and 4 yr olds.

Re: Teachers-student invites to church
My students will not be invited to my ceremony. They are all children with special needs and are too impulsive. It is a pity though. A few of the parents would get a kick out of watching. However, I am Jewish and will be having my ceremony and reception in the same location. I'd feel very funny about asking them to leave.

Re: Teachers-student invites to church
My friend's class (3rd grade) gave her a 'reception' on her last day. She said it was so cute because the parents set it all up including a harpist and opera singer (also parents!) She invited the parents/kids at this time to attend the ceremony. I saw lots of little girls at the church and assumed they were her students.

Re: Teachers-student invites to church
my FH is a teacher, and he'll probably just tell the kids or write it on the board or something. Guys are much less formal with this sort of thing - our church is in the town where he teaches so hopefully we'll have a bunch of cute kids there:)Welcome New Vendors
