Did anyone read that article in Modern Bride???
The one about couples who had their wedding sponsored, and basically paid next to nothing!

was that the one where a wedding was sponsored by Dunkin Donuts? If so, I read that article. makes you think....but I really would not want to give up total control just to save money!

Re: Did anyone read that article in Modern Bride???
I read it as well... I don't think I would be able to go through with it either... I mean a free wedding is great but that is more stress on top of the stress of already planning a weddding. And sometimes you have to go with the vendors ideas of what your day should be instead of you and your FH's ideas!

Re: Did anyone read that article in Modern Bride???
What they basically did was write letters to various wedding vendors, such as DJ's, Caterers, Florists, etc, and if they provided their items for free, the couple would provide free advertising - such as inserting the vendors names and information in their program, and other menial tasks. Obviously, this happened OUTSIDE OF NYC - Shocker....

From what I saw throughout the article, the logos weren't everywhere, it was actually quite suttle.

Re: Did anyone read that article in Modern Bride???
I read the article...they included some kind of page in their wedding program about their 'sponsors'...seemed pretty tacky to me!

Re: Did anyone read that article in Modern Bride???
Blech. I wouldn't want to turn my wedding into some corporate marketing extravaganza, no matter how much money I could save. Famous people can get away with it because they're visible (I can't believe how much they get for free on a DAY TO DAY basis because of that!) and some people aspire to be like them (well, not Star Jones...) but of course they don't NEED everything paid for. I think I heard that that huge Dior gown Melania was wearing was free. And that whole 'unveiling' in Vogue... Ugh.

It grosses me out as well.
I would rather have a backyard BBQ wedding than a be part of anything like this.
Talk about taking 'you' out of the wedding!
