Re: NWR where to buy nice yet not expensive furniture?

Ikea definitely has great looking furniture at an awesome price but be careful if you do purchase from them. I've bought two sets of dressers and since the bottom of the drawers are cardboard, they eventually will fall out from the weight of the clothes.

I would purchase from them again but I would be more careful of the make-up of the item.

Re: NWR where to buy nice yet not expensive furniture?

believe it or not theres this little store in the Medford shopping center on horseblock, just east of 112 on the left hand side just past SAMS CLUB. They have some really nice unique things for cheap. I dont think you order anything you buy whats there. I think theyre left overs etc. My friend just bought tons of furniture there. I figure Ill just wait until I get a house of my own. Check it out

Re: NWR where to buy nice yet not expensive furniture?

I like Seaman's - you can get great packages for really low.

Our mohogany w/gun metal accents set included a Queen Size Bed, bureau, mirror, two night stands, two lamps, and a another larger bureau for $1500.

I love Ikea, but they're ultra modern and you have to put everything together yourself (no biggie b/c it's simple) but actually finding matching acessories I found tough.

Re: NWR where to buy nice yet not expensive furniture?

I second seamans & jcpennys. me & FH recently set up our apartment & got a full living room set w. lamps & tables which included delivery for under $1100. Our kitchen set from jcpennys was under $500 & we didn't have to pay fo rshipping--it is a black & brown wood table & 4 chairs. Good luck.

Re: NWR where to buy nice yet not expensive furniture?

A lot of stuff at IKEA while not always the prettiest ahs really solid construction.

We got our couch at Macy' and our entertainment center at Fortunoff. The prices were pretty good, but what made it REALLY affordable was that we were able to get no interest financing to pay it off over 6 momths

i like seamans as well. they always have specials with their credit card if you apply you can have like 2-5 years to pay it off, without interest. we got our furniture there all leather couch, love seat and a wall entertainment center for a tad over 3.

Re: NWR where to buy nice yet not expensive furniture?

Not sure where you are located, but there are a ton of furniture stores on Route 110 in Farmingdale...a lot of them have good sales, etc...you may want to hold off until memorial day weekend if you can so you can get some bargains!!!

Re: NWR where to buy nice yet not expensive furniture?

Ikea has decent furniture, that won't last you forever but does the job. I think I like their home accents better than the actual furniture. I bout a tV entertainment wall unit from there which has been fine for our small apartment, but probably won't keep it if we move to a house. You should check out Macy's Furniture showroom/clearance outlet on Glen Cove Road near Roosevelt mall. They have a back section of all clearance floor models-it may have minor 'damage' could be one scratch on the back of a leather couch and the price is reduced to $400, not bad.

Re: NWR where to buy nice yet not expensive furniture?

If you want quality furniture you can't go to Ikea, Seamans or Levitts. I'm not sure what your budget is, but quality furniture would be at Thompsonville, Ethan Allen.
