E-Party Invitations (Updated with Pics)

Has anyone here made their own invitations i.e. buying the card stock, printing them at home, etc. Any tips that you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Also feel free to post your invitation creations!

Re: E-Party Invitations

I made my own!! Here is a pic of it. I designed it on QuarkXPress - 4 to a page, then printed them on white card stock from Staples and cut them down!

Re: E-Party Invitations

I made my own too. I bought the invitations at staples they were really wedding invitations. I used the big invitation for the e-party and the reception cards for my thank yous. It really worked out well. I would recommend it--it is a little time consuming but I saved at least $100 if not more since I didn't have to buy thank yous. I don't have a picture of our invitation but it was white stock paper w/ a silver border and two hearts overlapping each other.

Exactly what I am doing with the same invite! I love that invite so much. I found the seals to put on it as well

Re: E-Party Invitations

Thanks everybody! Did you print the invites out using a regular printer or do you have laser printers at home? I have a regular printer at home (a bubblejet, I think?) and I'm wondering if it will do the job nicely.

Re: E-Party Invitations

I bought my invitations at Michaels, the ones with the kits, the backdrop, the vellum paper and the bows to put them together with. I printed them on the computer, and everyone said that they were so beautiful, I thought that they were ok, nothing special, but everyone seemed to liked them.

Re: E-Party Invitations

I wanted to do them myself, but FH works 65-70 hrs a week, and I work 35 hours plus full time school...anyway, we ordered from The AMerican Wedding Album- they will be arriving on tuesday, so I will let you know. But their prices are GREAT!

Re: E-Party Invitations (Updated with pics)

So FH and I ended up printing our own invitations using a Print-Your-Own kit I found at AC Moore. Originally FH and I didn't want to send out 'formal' invitations, but the parents insisted, so we caved in. I am SO glad that they made us do so b/c not only were these invites inexpensive, but they were also fairly easy to print out and make.

Now that people are starting to receive the invitations, I thought I'd post a pic of a 'sample' invite we made here. (the address to the restaurant is incorrect) I've gotten nothing but compliments for them so if you are thinking about printing your own invites, I HIGHLY recommend AC Moore. They had a HUGE selection over there.

Re: E-Party Invitations (Updated with Pics)

BTW - Buggiegirl - how did your American Wedding invitations turn out? Sometimes I wish we'd ordered invites b/c I felt like I was printing whenever I had a free moment (2am). The last few weeks of school were hectic to say the least.
