computer people: HELP ME! can I get back something I deleted?

I just deleted my entire wedding file. I was trying to get rid of a few pictures, and I clicked on the whole file from the G Drive and deleted it.

WHAT DO I DO!!

I can't ask IT for help becasue it is personal stuff on my work computer.

I think I am going to throw up...

Try checking in your Recycle Bin... It may be in there!!!

nothing in the recycle bin. Is it possible that it goes straight to the garbage without going in there first?

I think your IT department would be understanding. We all do personal stuff. My IT depatment was very understanding when I needed to recover an old version of my guest list after I saved it with changes.

You should contact your IT department they may be able to revert your hard drive

I'd start too with a search for a file from your wedding file (from the start menu).

Good luck....

If all else fails, I'd contact the IT dept.

they might be able to recover last nights version (most company back up each night) so anything from yesterday would be saved ...

Usually it doesnt fully delete unless you empty the recycling bin. Maybe you accidently moved it without knowing.

What you may want to do is right click you mouse on the start button and click on search. Click on 'Look in' 'My computer' so it scans your entire computer, and type the file name. Click search. Any file that looks like it or any remnants of it will appear.
