Two times per day for the Bull Mastiff but sometimes the pommie goes out 3 times per day.

Re: POLL: How many times do you walk your dog a day?

They go out at least 5 -6 times a day. I feel that since they are so cooped up all day, it is only fair that they are outside and get a chance to play as often as possible. They go out 2x in the morning and at least 3x times in the evening.

Re: POLL: How many times do you walk your dog a day?

I checked off twice, but, we also set up a doggy door with a doggy run, so little sparky has freedom to roam outside anytime he wants. We do walk him at least 2x a day just so he gets some exercise...

Re: POLL: How many times do you walk your dog a day?

I also said twice, but those 'walks' are 45 minutes each. We also play outide at night in addition to the walk, so Golem is outside a lot.

Re: POLL: How many times do you walk your dog a day?

Minimum 3 times a day, but more if we are home and he has to 'go'. Unfortunately, there's no place for him to play outside, so he gets to run home with the long leash dangling behind him for the length of the parking lot.

why not?
alot of peopel think it makes tehn 'backwards' in training but it doesnt

tehy know to go outside. but theyre allowed to use teh pads as well. theres no problem for me with that.

they arent 'confused'. when they go outside they know to get everythign out!!!

plus its harder for me. i dont have a yard or anything. i have to actually walk them.

eta: sorry about my mispelling

also, i dont get why so many people find wee wee pads so revolting! as long as you keep it clean its fine!
kitty litter boxes are a helluva lot worse

Re: POLL: How many times do you walk your dog a day?

Ebony gets walked 3x - one of those usually being a mile trek in Belmont Lake Park, where he can run and sniff to his doggy delight.

I let him in and out numerous times -- he likes to bask in the sun and roll on the grass on the front lawn and he won't go off the property so I let him do that whenever he wants (I work from home).

BUT -- now that I am on bed rest, he goes for a walk at 6:30 am (against his wishes), and then not until 7pm when DH gets home. Another walk before bedtime. He is missing his playtime in the park and I feel sooo guilty!!

But I will let him in & out as he wishes, it's not the same - he isused to taking a walk to do his business.

It's amazing how many of my neighbors have dogs -- and they NEVER get out of the yard!!!
Imagine if you never left your house! You;d go batty! Poor dogs...

Re: POLL: How many times do you walk your dog a day?

We don't walk our dogs.

We let them out in the backyard at least 5 times a day. Besides early morning, after I return from work and after dinner, they let us know when they want to be let out.

Re: POLL: How many times do you walk your dog a day?

Once in the morning (me)
Once before I leave for work (me)
When DH gets home from work
When I get home from work (a long walk usually)
Before she goes to bed (DH)

I answered 3 but I guess it's really 5!

Re: POLL: How many times do you walk your dog a day?

we're in an apt. so we take them out ALOT. The puppy seems to need to go out every 2- 2 1/2 hours.

ETA: when we have the house, we'll just let them out in the yard when they need to go and maybe 1 walk a day around the neighborhood

Re: POLL: How many times do you walk your dog a day?

in the AM before breakfast, when DH gets home at 4:30, then again after dinner.

The puppy will let us know if he has to go out more than that, but the Pug is pretty much on a schedule

1. because i do think it is backwards training..If they know to go outside ..why use it???

i do not have a yard either and i do go out and walk him.

I just had bad experiences with other dogs and the wee wee pad...We taught her to use it and rarely would go outside...drove us nuts...

I taught martin to go outside and i see no reason for a wee wee pad

Re: POLL: How many times do you walk your dog a day?

oh well i can understand that.
maybe im lucky then b/c mine know that outside is their real bathroom. i never have a problem with them not going outside. they cant go outside and NOT go potty!!
as for teh pads... i leave tehm down in the bathroom and they use it for teh middle of the night, if i'm not home, or if its freezing outside and i dont want to walk tehm. But they go outside the majority of the time. i just still give them that option.
but like i said, i dont have a problem with them goign outside at all. like you said about that dog that uses them and it makes her go outside less, i guess we're just opposite.
and i must say that i am very clean about it! i know thats a big misconception.... well, it depends on the owner really!
