Did anyone do a magazine-style album?
I booked Sherwood Triart and LOVE their work. I want to get a magazine style album. My question is: how many photos did you use/are you planning on using? My package has 65 photos (they charge by photo, not number of pages), but since there are multiple ones on a page, this doesn't translate into 65 pages. Should I see about paying for some extra photos if my proofs are good? Just wondering how many photos any of you used.

Re: Did anyone do a magazine-style album?
I designed my album and I think I used about 120 photos but I didnt really count. I had two 2 page layouts. I did a lot of multiple image pages b/c thats what I prefered. If you prefer pages with larger photos, you can definitely do it with less.
If you do a search on the newlywed board, you will see a lot of the girls who did digital albums to get some other options.

not to hijack, but was this a diy project or did you design it through your photographer (package)? thanks!

Love your album!
I'm doing magazine style also.. and I have 80 pictures, but if I decide I need more, I'll pay a little extra. My photographer is awesome and adds in so many things... so I'm not worried. I know the end product will be amazing no matter what!

Re: Did anyone do a magazine-style album?
I did the design myself but my photographer coordinated with the company that made the album itself, etc.. It was a really long process but in short: my photographer gave me the high resolution scans of my photos and then I sent him back the high resolution designs. He sent those to his manufactering company and had the album made.
The company he used was Digicraft (which at the time was one of the few good ones)...but now I bet there are a lot of other options out there.

Yeah, I was thinking 65 was small, and 80 sounds more like what I should get. I'll try to save $$$ in the wedding budget to pay for some extra pictures. Maybe I can get my tiarra on ebay instead of paying $500 for the one I want...

Re: Did anyone do a magazine-style album?
I used Sherwood Triart and when I booked with them back in the summer of 2002 magazine style did not exist. I went to set up my album two weeks ago and I paid extra to have the magazine style. I loved it. I was given 70 pictures in my contract and I wound up with 130. I paid extra for these pictures as well. I had so many proofs from them. I was so happy with the pictures. They did a great job. I also had the photojournalism done which is why I had so many proofs. I do not regret the photojournalism at all but I had such a hard time narrowing down the pics because of it. We really had a lot of pictures.
You are not going to be disappointed with them. I did spend more money when all was said and done but these are your memories. I cannot wait to see the album. I have to wait about 9 months for it. I do know when I get it I am sure I will be happy. Sherwood has been true professionals through everything. I really was happy with them.
