Mom and FMIL meeting each other

My mom asked for FMIL's phone number a few days ago to go over possible dates for my bridal shower. . . and tonight she called me to say that the two of them were on the phone for a half an hour!! They're around the same age, both grew up in Queens, attended Catholic schools, and have fairly similar personalities. They joked that they felt that they had known each other for years already!!!!!!!!!! FMIL is planning on having my parents out to her place for a bbq sometime this summer.
