Parents Gift Idea?!! List them

Okay, I can't think of anything sentimental to give my parents. I know that ***** right? My parents have a very very old computer that doesn't even works. SO I was originally thinking about I wanted to buy them a new computer, but I need something less than $400 with 512 SDram and 80GB (that's the most I can convince FH to go). My parents are paying for the reception, so I really want to get them a nice gift. I don't have any baby pictures of me....

WHat are you ladies doing? Oh, FH and I are getting them an album and a DVD of the wedding, but we want to have something to give them at the Rehearsal. Actually, I didn't know the album and DVD were considered gifts, I just thought it was standard... ANyways I have two questions:
1. If you are giving your parents an album or DVD how are you letting them know? Do you say it at the rehearsal?

2. What are some good parent gift ideas?

we are giving my mom a precious moment figurine of 'my babys now a bride' and in her card we'll tell her we are giving her an album/dvd

for my dad ... i really dont know yet. i'm not giving him his own album (my parents are divorced) b/c he'll only lose it/ruin it. we'll frame some nice pics for him afterwards tho. he loves to fish so i was thinking of a new pole or soemthing.

We got my parents a weekend away at a B&B for the weekend after the wedding, while we were on our honeymoon.

They had a great time.

Well my Mom is a widow and so is my FFIL so we're having paintings done - I got their favorite pics of them with their spouses and used that. They're each also getting a framed photo of us. I'm paying for my Mom's hair the day of the wedding too

The parents are paying for a large bulk of the wedding so we really wanted to do something nice for them but they have everything. So it was very hard to come up with something until I spoke with a friend and he told me about this awesome wedding gift he received. It is called Select Registry. It is a conglomeration of over 400 very distinct and unique (ie on a plantation, elaborate gardens, historical, etc) B&B's and Inns all across the country and Canada. You just buy them a gift certificate and they get to choose any B&B or Inn they want to stay at and it can be used up to 7 years. So we thought it would be a nice idea to sort of buy them 'a weekend away'.

We are giving both of our parents DVD Recorder-VCR Combos. This way they will be able to record all of the Home Movies that are on VHS that they are obsessed with, onto DVD to make sure they are preserved. And so that FMIL can watch them to her hearts content!

Well niether of our parents paid for our wedding so we kept the gifts small and simple.

I got each mom a really nice 8x10 picture frame so that when we got our wedding proofs they could pick their favorite picture and I would have it enlarged and they could display it in the frame.

My sil will be giving this to my mil at her RD.
Its a lenox figurine of a bride and her mom
Its called ' A mothers loving touch'

If you wanted to spend more money how about a Digital Camera?? I know my mom would never buy one for herself but LOVES to take pictures!!! Plus she could use it for the wedding

Our parents are getting the 'parent's albums' from the photographer and a DVD of the wedding from the videographer.
Our parents are not chipping in...even a penny, so since these come with the package it's the best we could do...

We also got the personalized hankies for the moms and grandmoms and for the parents we got picture frames engraved with the wedding invitation. (THe albums and DVDs will be part of their Christmas presents if they are done).

we are doing thr digital cameras for each of our parents and then a scrapbook for each. My parents are divorced so they are each getting one and my inlaes will get just one. also my parents are paying so I am not sure if I should do something else for them too but I am broke so it might be tough

We are sending my parents to Vegas after the wedding. My parents love it there.
I will also get each set of parents something sentimental, not sure yet.

We got my Mom and dad a Digital Camera. And Mikes Mom a trip to Marco Island for 2 or 3 nights. They were going to be in Florida anyway!
