Anyone not doing/didn't do OOT Guest bags??
Seems like such an extra added expense?? Do the guests expect it? Just trying to get some thoughts here.

we didn't do them- we didn't have any extra money, but also my MIL told me not to- and ALL of DH's guests were from MA. She felt that it was 'too much'.

Re: Anyone not doing/didn't do OOT Guest bags??
we didn't do them. No one expected them, no one commented about it at all. But, we blocked rooms at 'high end' hotels, but were able to get GREAT rates. The hotels had EVERYTHING in the rooms that a guest could hope for, at no extra charge.

Re: Anyone not doing/didn't do OOT Guest bags??
I don't think we're gonna do them. We don't have that many OOT guests so I don't think it's worth it to stress myself over. Plus it's an added expense that we don't really have room for!!

Re: Anyone not doing/didn't do OOT Guest bags??
we're not gonna do them... we don't have too many people coming from OOT..... and the ones that are are from hicksville, PA and things are so much simpler out there that i know they're not expecting anything... but if you do do them, i don't think they have to be anything fancy-- maybe just a couple snack sized bags of chips or somethign and a bottle of water

I'm doing it b/c I went to an out of town wedding and when I saw the bag I thought it was such a GREAT idea and nice touch.

Bottled water
Cheese/Crackers

Im not doing it. I think its kind of a new thing.I think we go a little over the top in lower NY. I dont even think my OOT relatives know what it is LOL
I have been to out of state weddings and I never got one and I was a - o.k. with that too.

I think that the guest bags are nice, but it's just an expense we can't do right now.

I think they are nice but not necessary. I was so busy and that was the furthest thing from my mind.

I don't think guests expect it at all. When I tell people about, they look at me like I have gone bonkers! They probably are right

Re: Anyone not doing/didn't do OOT Guest bags??
I did them and it cost about $5 per bag. To me it was worth the expense. People didn't expect them and probably would not have noticed if we didn't, but they all commented on how thoughtful it was.Last weekend my friend got married and she didn't do them. Her guest were staying at my hotel and I only heard one comment about there not being any. (They saw that another bride had left them for her guests).
So, in my opinion, they are definitely not necessary, but are a nice thought if you have the time and a little extra money.

I don't plan on doing them. Most of the OOT guests will originally be from NY.

Re: Anyone not doing/didn't do OOT Guest bags??
I'm not doing them either. My whole family is coming from out of state, and it would be just too much to try to get done. Plus, I've gone to weddings OOT before, and I've never received a guest bag, so I personally don't think they are all that important. Also, my guests might be staying at different hotels, so it would to hard to coordinate.

Re: Anyone not doing/didn't do OOT Guest bags??
We are doing them because it's a nice touch and makes the people who are OOT feel a little extra special about making the journey. They don't have to be overboard - Grammy's Night bags... just a few things like water, area guides, snacks, asprins.
