we are just putting a bottle of pindar in the room with a note tag. No basket and the bottles by the case come out to $5 each.

Nope. I didn't want the extra expense, but really, I didn't want to give myself ANYTHING extra to do the few days before the wedding. I didn't really have a lot of help the week before, so it would have been me to drop them off. My guests didn't notice and I don't think cared.

I never expect them when I go to a wedding, but when you see that package when you walk in your hotel room...it just makes you feel good....that the Bride and Groom appreciate the fact that you traveled and are paying for a hotel just to be with them on their special day.

I don't have too many OOT guests and most of the ones that come will be driving in and not staying overnight. I figure I can have small 'travel' bags for their drives back.

Coffee candy, munchies, bottled water, and maybe a mix cd.

We decided to do them because we are having quite a few OOT guests and we wanted to also let them know all the last minute information since we are inviting them to the rehearsal dinner. A lot are making a weekend out of it and I didn't want to worry about them not knowing what there was to do. So we are including Travel Guides, directions, timelines, snakes, a tiny bottle of wine, etc for them to enjoy their stay.

As of now, we arent doing them. The funds are running high and dry

Also my guests arent coming in and staying at the hotel, most of them are staying with there families. I think there is one aunt of mine coming in and going to the hotel, she is from CA so i might get her a few I LOVE NY nic-nacs.

We have very few OOT guests and most of them have family on LI and will be staying with them so we don't think we need to do them.

It all depends on your guests! We have 100% OOT'ers, so everyone is paying to stay in expensive hotels out east, with a two night minimum! Most are traveling 3-5 hours, if not flying in. I think in that situation, it's really nice to give an OOT bag! I think they cost us about $3 apiece.

We are doing them because it's a nice touch and makes the people who are OOT feel a little extra special about making the journey. They don't have to be overboard - Grammy's Night bags... just a few things like water, area guides, snacks, asprins.

That was my whole reason for doing them. I think that if they are not expecting them, that makes it even more special. We put in water, asprin, maps and my sister made cookies for each.
