What's your favorite quote about marriage from this list??

It is ok to do things differently (e.g. there is more than one way to clean up or fold the laundry).

Always make time for the two of you.

Never go to bed angry. (Unless it's 3a.m. and you're exhausted, angry, and not thinking straight.)

Remember that people do fight. It's how you do it that matters.

Before starting an argument, consider if it's really worth it.

Agree to disagree.

Respect each other's privacy.

Marriage is not 50/50, it's two people giving 100/100 all of the time.

Never pass up an opportunity to say 'I love you'.
Hold hands whenever you can. Hug and Kiss every day.

Always believe that you got better than you deserved

Be quick to say 'I'm sorry'.

Choose the one you love, then love the one you choose.

Keep the in-laws out of your marriage!

Marriage is between 2 people. No one else's opinions matter!

Never air your dirty laundry as a couple in public.

Never keep secrets from each other.

No matter what, take your husband or wife's side first!

Always respect each other.

Never do or say something that you will regret later. Its easy to forgive but harder to forget.

Before starting an argument, consider if it's really worth it.

I've been married 29 years and live by this one...but I alter it a little. Mine is more like 'choose your battles. Are they worth it. '

Before starting an argument (sounds like you are looking for a fight) although sometimes you know there is a touchy subject that will probally cause tension. I usually weight what I say and how I say it if I have to approach a questionable subject. And second most of the time fighting is just not worth it. It is easier to back up and take a look at something and find out it is stupid and not worth it to fight about it.

If it is something that has to be said always remember you get more bees with honey than you do with vinegar! Works well on men too!

FH's sister should've read this quote-they call his mom and stepfather everytime they get into a fight (which is often) and then wonder why the mom and stepfather don't like the husband

Re: What's your favorite quote about marriage from this list??

All of those quotes are wise advice for married couples. For me though, I would choose 'Marriage is not 50/50, it's two people giving 100/100 all of the time.' This one stood out for me because I am divorced, and I always felt that my ex-husband never put his all into our marriage. After a while, I stopped giving 100% as well. I now have a man who has the same life priorities as I do - and we want nothing more than to spend the rest of lives giving our all to each other.

Not married yet but we have a child together and I feel that we sometimes forget to express our love or just end up taking that for granted!!
