Money sent before the wedding... When do you cash it?

Ok, so someone who can't come to the wedding just sent us a check ... Do I cash it NOW or in August, after the wedding?

I would cash it now! No sense in having it 'sit' in the persons acct for that long!

Agreed. We cashed them as they came in and sent TYs then, too.

We are waiting to cash them after the wedding. A check is only good for 90 days, so you may not be able to wait. I wrote a thank you note upon receipt and will send the regular thank you note after the wedding.
