POLL! If you were invited to a surprise party for a WEEK night, would you go?

Let's say it's an aunt, or a party for an in law.

Would you go if it was on a Tuesday or a Thursday night?

I voted yes, but it would really depend where it is (how far from home), and what was going on at work.

I know.

Part of my DH's family live in Westchester, NY. But, they work for their parents and come and go as they please (and the parents own their businesses), so I'm thinking that they should be able to handle it.

Another big part of his family are people who already retired, so I was thinking that they could also swing it.

But, there's still the rest of the people - like us - who do have to be at work the next morning for 8 am.

eta: we would be hosting this party for my MIL

Same here -- my favorite aunt lives in South Jersey, for example, and I don't know if I'd be able to make it out during the week for an evening party and then have to drive home. If it's more than an hour away from my work, I probably wouldn't go (but that's just me and I'm lazy right now ).

A Thursday would be better.....a Tuesday I wouldnt go. Theres too many days left in the work week after.

To be honest i probably wouldnt go, or if i did go i would leave early ...i need my rest/sleep and i know i wouldnt be able to function- however Thursday would be better than tuesday

It really would depend more on the distance than the day. I try to get myself out of some weekend family parties sometimes, just because I don't want to sit in the car for a long time.

I would go. We went to a party two nights ago and didn't get home until close to midnight. I would have felt bad if I missed it.

If the party is for your MIL, then absolutely go.

You can always leave by 10:30-11 to be home at a decent hour for your beauty rest.......and besides its a work night, so everyone should understand the whole leaving early bit........but I'd Definitely GO.

As long as it wasn't too late I would go! Every one has work the next day, so I'm sure it'll end pretty early.

I would go on either night, I'm not in bed until after 12 am anyway and I'm fine the next day for work :)

I would go. I have no trouble with the occasional late night. I would prefer Thursday though.
