Has anyone heard of a bride losing their hall?

I was talking with my sister last night and she mentioned a girl she knows, lost her reception hall 6 WEEKS before her wedding. Apparently, they sold it and doubled booked her date and she was told to find another hall.

That sounds crazy! Does this happen often? Is there a way to prevent it???

Last year, there was a hall that went into liquidation, I think, and there were a few people who had to find new halls.

As far as I know, this is very rare!

I hope so! That's such a terrible thing, to be told so soon before your wedding to find another hall.

Yes.
My mom's very good friend (she is like a 2nd mother to me) was married about 20 yrs ago, but she booked one place, they went out ot business 2 mos before her wedding, then found another place, who ended having a fire, so had to chose ANOTHER place. She was funny, she didn't want to remind me of that and didn't want to talk about in front of me after we got engaged last year!

They always pull that prank on Z100. They tell the bride that they double booked the date. That is so scary to even think about.
