ceremony in church or carltun?

I'm having a really hard time deciding where to have the ceremony, so I'm asking you girls for help and advice.

I'm not really catholic and neither is my FI. So we don't want to have to go through the whole catholic thing... but we both like the idea of having the ceremony in a church. Have any of you had your ceremonies at a non-denomonation church? One of the ones that I love is in East Williston - the community church. It's really pretty.

Both of us are adamant about attending our cocktail hour, and I feel that if we get married in a church it will be easier to make it to the cocktail hour...

Re: ceremony in church or carltun?

are your families/parents very religious?
If you deep down want it in the church do it, you dont have to have a mass, just the ceremony

Re: ceremony in church or carltun?

so far both families said that they would be fine either way... so we're pretty lucky that it's pretty much up to us.

Re: ceremony in church or carltun?

I feel a little differently -- I don't think a ceremony has to be in a church to be special or spiritual. I'm having a religious ceremony outdoors and can't think of any other place I'd rather have it. I am not necessarily the most religious person in terms of attending church, but I do have a great appreciation for the natural beauty God created and feel it will be very spiritual to be married outdoors. I know we'll never regret our choice.

I think this one is totally up to you -- you and FH should have it in the location you like the best, feel is most appropriate, and you should do whichever your gut is telling you to do. If you don't choose what you really want deep down, you may regret that afterward....

Re: ceremony in church or carltun?

If you have a lot of people coming, would they all fit? I considered having my wedding there and that was one of my worries - fitting everyone there for the ceremony.

Do what makes you happy - and what's easiest. It will be beautiful either way.
