Gift for 90-year-old woman

I'm going to FH's great aunt's SURPRISE PARTY this weekend. What do you give a 90-year-old woman????

comfy pajamas

so funny because we have my uncle's 90th next weekend and we decided to go in on a gift basket with my parents and bro & sil...we did all chocolates and nuts and cheeses and crackers. i mean what do 90 year people need, really?! we got it from Love My Basket in Massapequa...Karen is GREAT & does such a nice job!! Check it out...

A gift card to the grocery store.

A gift certificate to a nice restaurant.

I also like the idea of pajamas

A cleaning service (a house/apt is very hard to take care of as you get older)

I know the first one sounds common but so many elderly women are just living on SS and most didn't work outside of the home for many years so their payments are much smaller and/or they are living on survivor's pensions.

I always get my grandma alcohol! Who doesn't like some good liquor. She's only 87 though.
ETA: and chocolate. Grandma loves Drambuie and Godiva.

When my great aunt turned 90, my grandmother got her gift certificate to a deli she liked to order from, that delivered, b/c she decided at 90, she would stop cooking!

Ohh that's good--DH got his grandma a nice bunch of flowers for her bday and she loved them. She does not drink.

Is she a 'cool' older woman? My grandmother is very with it, so a gift certificate to the grocery store would be weird.

does she have any particular hobbies? Does she keep a garden? Does she collect anything?

we soemtimes get my grandpa GC to the grocery store, but he is defintely, not 'with it' Grocery stores ARE his hobby.

There is nothing wrong with it! I'm just saying that's why we get him gift cards there. He rrally doesn't do much else. He gets th circulars, cuts coupons, comparisons shops & then walks to about 3 different stores a week! He is in great shape.

He know what days the deliveries come, who the managers are, etc.

gosh- my 93 year old grandma told us approx 5 years ago that she doesn't want 'anymore crap'

She said she's ALWAYS throwing stuff out because she doesn't have room for it all.

SO, we started doing: framed family portraits. Flowers. Fruit baskets. Gift Certificates for restaurants.
