Need furniture!

The only thing FH and I own is a bed and a tv. That's all he needs, but I'm looking for furniture. Couch, SMALL kitchen table and chairs for tiny apartment, etc. Anyone selling?

that's funny because that is all we have too!! that, and an old leather lounge chair...

we have a lot of furniture shopping to do!!

I would suggest Salvation Army or Goodwill if money is tight. We've been going in every once in a while and finding some great deals! Garage sales too!

we are moving into a house and have too much stuff! we are getting rid of our couch and kitchen table and some other stuff

I was recently at the Christmas Tree Shop and they had a cute little kitchen table set that was small and I think it was only $75.

We may have some stuff in a few weeks. We're moving to Manhattan and I'm sure we won't be able to take everything with us. Things we *might* be getting rid of:

-large beech Ikea desk with hutch
-beech Ikea armore with desk interior
-2 Ikea Poang chairs (one sage, one navy blue)
-1 birch Ikea coffee table (can you tell that we did all our furniture shopping at Ikea? )
-1 birch Ikea end table
-2 Ikea end tables in a really nice light wood (I put them together in my old apartment and used them as a coffee table)
-we may get rid of our dining table too -- it's of course Ikea. it's birch with the blue-ish colored glass in the center. We have 5 matching chairs too.

please be very careful with used furniture from salvation army or any random sources.

some decent furniture can be riddened with bedbugs.

i know first hand about this problem and its absolutely a nightmare.

I'm afraid of buying furniture from Goodwill b/c FH is allergic to cats and I don't want any cat hair on anything, but BUGS! You poor thing!!!

there are ways to tell if its on a piece of furniture - looking for signs of them - brown spots, little red marks. but the best bet is to buy a bug spray and spray the wholw damn thing before you take it in your house.

i know about them because i got bit at night in a very nice hotel and in trying to figure out what it is, i read up on these things.

i read about people taking nice furniture off the street that is 'free' or buying it off craigs list at a low price - if the sell price is too good to be true- id stay away. the person may be trying to rid infested items from their apartment. just be careful. its horrible if they infest your house.
