Table idea: what do you think? Also, please give suggestions!
So I had this idea for a table theme and wanted to see what you girls thought. I would name all the tables a different candy and use candies from different holidays/seasons. So one would be 'candy corn', another would be 'conversation hearts'. At each table then, I would have some candy dishes filled with whatever the candy the table name is.What do you think? Does anyone have candy suggestions?

You can use red & green M&M's or blue & white ones for the holiday season table.

I like that. I think you can also get ones with graphics on it. I could do christmas and hannukkah, since we'll have a mix of guests.

I honestly think if you do it tastefully it'll turn out well.If you go nuts and try to incorporate it too much, it'll just be like a Sweet 16 or Bar/Bat Mitzvah (sp?) and too 'themey'

Re: Table idea: what do you think? Also, please give suggestions!
Lets see...I'm probably going to have 12 tables, so I need 12 names:candy corn
holiday m&ms
cadbury eggs
peeps (i was thinking of doubling up on holidays)
candy pumpkins
i can't think of any more. I love candy but my mind is blank.

Absoultely. I was thinking of a cute sign for each table name (can get that printed somewhere). I would just put one or two bowls of candy on each table, in a mikasa crystal bowl or something nice like that.

If you double up on Valentine's Day, you can have Dove hearts in addition to the conversation hearts, but I think you can only get them around Valentine's Day. M&M's though are very versatile - you can use pink, red, and white ones for Valentine's Day, pastels for spring, fall colors for Thanksgiving - they come in an awful lot of colors. As you can see, I spend far too much time at the candy store

No, I would have flower centerpieces. Just crystal bowls filled with candy for guests to munch on. My cousin had chocolate baskets filled with chocolate covered nuts at her wedding and everyone loved munching on it
ETA: I'd LOVE a candy bar but I think that would be too much since we are having dessert trays on each table. We got that free in the package with our hall.

I'll keep thinking. This is such a cute cute idea!!
ETA- This will be great to get your guests up, mingleing and out on the dance floor, because they'll want to walk around and check out and sample the candy at the other tables!!

Re: Table idea: what do you think? Also, please give suggestions!
I think as a guest I might think it was a little weird to find peeps on the table in June or to be seated at a table called 'candy canes'. Just my opinion, and you kind of have to gauge the type of wedding you are having to pull this off. If it fits with your wedding, then go for it.ETA: It might be better to name the tables after non-holiday centric candies. I.e. M&Ms, twizzlers, the milky way, peppermint patties. I just wouldn't tie it into a holiday.

I'm not sure I know what those are. Are they called 'firecracker candy'? I'll have to google it.

I was actually thinking the same thing. I love halloween so I would do candy corn, but I think it would try to stick with candy that is seen year round like m&ms and some other clasic candies.
