Question for those getting married/or already married in a church

Did you have the florist do any decorating in the church? or are you planning to?

if so what will you having done?

I want to do pew bows and maybe have some toulle draped, but I am not sure if we should have the florist add anything.

Any pictures would be great too!

Re: Question for those getting married/or already married in a church

We had pew bows that I made myself and then we got four pieces for the alter, two of the one in the second pic and two that were a little smaller, you can see the smaller one in the background, it was on the ledges of the pews up on the alter in our chruch.

Re: Question for those getting married/or already married in a church

A TIP:

Have someone (a groomsman) make sure there are not contrasting colored flowers already at the church the morning of.

I thought my church would be undecorated, except for the flowers I brought in, (which were pink and white). But there were large bouquets of yellow and orange flowers up at the alter which noone removed, and which are in all the pictures!

Thats a very good point!! Thats why we opted for the white flowers, because for our February wedding, the church still had red poinsettas everywhere.

Re: Question for those getting married/or already married in a church

I couldn't decorate my church beforehand because they had another even right before mine. So my florist did pew bows and floral pieces for the front of the church that we were able to bring in right beforehand.

No our church said not to b/c they get flowers in daily- well no they didnt! but it was ok- for the pews because I got married during pentecost the pews had canldes with flowers on them and they lit them so I didnt do any decorating at all in the church.

Re: Question for those getting married/or already married in a church

The florist is making alternating pew bows for us--with flowers and without. She is also making two large baskets for the altar, as well as a basket for the Virgin Mary (a traditional sentiment that is not necessarily followed by all). All flowers in the church will be white.
