NWR: I got my hair Japanese Straigtened yesterday!!!

Oh my god!!! I love my new straight hair. It came out awesome. I just hope when i wash it it looks the same. I cant stop running my hands through my hair, because it feels so soft!!! Im so excited

I can take after pics. I dont have many before pics, since i always wore my hair in a bun when it was curly.

#1 - CONGRATULATIONS...WELCOME TO THE CLUB....I'm also a member...and have been doing it for a few years! LOVE IT! Perfect timing for this nasty humid weather.

#2 - STOP TOUCHING IT!!!!! I know it's very hard to resist b/c of it's softness and shock factor, but don't touch it too much! At least for the first three/four days. Don't tuck it behind your ears, don't wash it, don't get it wet, and don't do ANYTHING....it's really important! The second time I went, I accidentally put my hair behind my ears for like a few hours at work, and low and behold, i had a small dent in it! Once you're past the first wash, you're good to go!

Congrats again!

p.s. how much did it run you?

I go to the salon around the corner from my house (in Brooklyn) - it's an Asian salon, and they charge me $100...SWEAR TO GOD! My MOH (best friend) goes to Sei in Manhattan, and they usually charge her about $400....My hair's a little past my shoulder blades, but if it was longer, it would not have been more than $150!!!!!!

Any good places in suffolk do it! I received FM's from you girls for Queens and Brooklyn! Would really like suffolk though!

For the price I got...it's worth the trip into the city...you're going to be there for AT LEAST 3/4 hours...bring an ipod, a book, magazines...LOL

I got mine done at Hayato in Manhattan. they charged me 260, but i have the thickest hair and it took me 5 1/2 hours including a hair cut. I just love it. I have so much confidence now. Its also great to finally be able to wear my hair down. Oh and I have to thank this website for all their salon suggestions. hayato is awesome, plus they give you the best back massage too.
