Bachelorette Party -- Need Advice

So, when my MOH was planning my bachelorette party she asked what I wanted to do. I told her that I thought it would be fun to go down to AC and go to the spa at the Borgata and then stay overnight. She planned the whole thing a few weeks ago, but apparently now certain people in my bridal party are very upset about how expensive the rooms are at the Borgata and how expensive the spa is there. (No one has said anything to me, but they've said stuff to my MOH and to my mother) I completely understand that it is expensive and was going to look into changing the hotel to a cheaper hotel but I have mixed feelings about it because of a few reasons. First, no one had any other suggestions as to what we could do...if they really didn't want to spend so much cash, one of them could have made a few phone calls to see what alternatives were (I have enough on my list of things to do). Secondly, they have not really done much of anything for me since I asked them to be my bridesmaids and I am a little upset that thye are complaining about the one thing that I ask them to do for me. Third, I really like the Borgata better than other hotels in AC and really wanted to stay there. But it is a lot more expensive than the other hotels. Sorry to ramble, I guess I just wanted to know what other people thought.

Any chance you can put a few more ppl in each room to make it cheaper?

Thanks for the advice, but some of the girls don't want to stay in a room with more than 2 people because they don't know anyone else. I guess it's just hard to please everyone.

Re: Bachelorette Party -- Need Advice

That is so frustrating, esp. since you say they haven't been the best bridesmaids. When I was stressing out about things like my friends complaining, my FI would remind me that when THEY get married they will want the same special things. It's your engagement, and when it's their turn you'll be paying for their parties. Don't worry about them, they'll figure out how to pay for it. You deserve it!

Re: Bachelorette Party -- Need Advice

I'm sorry but I kind of think that consensus should rule out here. I don't know the full story, though, what was your bp asked to do that they have let you down since getting engaged? I know that right now, in my life, I definitely couldn't afford to do AC and a spa treatment and would probably feel really uncomfortable stepping up and telling the bride that because since they are in your bp, they probably are close friends/ family and don't want to ruin it for you. You should never have gotten involved in this one, although I'm sure your MOH was just looking for suggestions. I would say put this back in her court and tell her to ask the one or two who cannot afford it if they wouldn't mind calling around and seeing some other places you all can stay at. Would it be possible for the girls who would rather not stay at Borgota (sp?) to stay somewhere close by while the rest of you stay where you want to?
