Depends on the chicken-Baked or roasted I like a Sauvingon Blanc
BBQ Fume Blanc or a Grigio
Marsala, Chick Parm or Francese - Grigio or Chardonnay

Sterling makes a great Sauv Blanc..2001-about $17
Santa Margherita P-Grigio-2003 $18
Also Pachal Sancere is really great a little more body to it and not as dry 2001 or 2002 about $18
I don't have a fav Chardonnay-(not a big fan) but ask the staff at the store about whether or not the wine is oaky or buttery or lemony. You decide which you like.
One of my favs of all time is Louis Jadot Here's a write up on it from 2000. It's more expensive, but I don't remember how much-sorry
Louis Jadot, Pouilly Fuisse, 1997: Of all the wines of the Maconnais sub-region of Burgundy, no white is more elegant, oaky, rich and full bodied as this. Full bodied, and already showing a hint of the toasted bread aromas that will develop, this well balanced wine already has nice citrus and honey flavors and aromas. Well balanced but give it another year for the oak to settle down a bit and for the wine to reveal its true complexity. Score 88+. (Tasted 22 Aug 2000)
I'm a bit of a wino!
