Bridal Shower- Need a location!!!

Ok, ladies. You’re the best and I know you can help!
I am a bridesmaid (yes, I'm pulling double duty!) for one of my best friends’ wedding which is taking place next August in Maryland. There’s only me and another bridesmaid (we’re like the 3 musketeers) and the bride’s mother who are trying to plan (and are splitting the cost of) a bridal shower.
We’re thinking about doing either a Saturday or Sunday brunch OR an English Garden themed tea-and-crumpets sort of thing. Now, this is where I need your help!
Does anyone know a nice place (either Nassau or Queens) that we could do a brunch for about 50 people that isn’t too expensive? Or a nice hall that we can cater ourselves but has a nice décor going with the English-tea theme?

i had my engagement party at giardinos in douglaston at their little private room . It went very nice and everyone LOVED the food!

I've also heard about the 7th Street Cafe in Garden City, although we'd have to do a lunch, not a brunch.
