So, yesterday I had a hair trial close to my house. I am posting the link to the pics. For me it was disappointing because it didn't look really anything like the pic, but that could be for a variety of reasons, particularly because my hair was not cut to recreate the front properly. the stylist was nice and talented, and I really don't blame him, but I have to decide if I want to stay with this style and prepare my hair (ie cut it to the proper length) or go with a different one.

THe highlight of the whole process had to be the fact that Christine came with me on a Sunday morning and sat with me for almost 2 hours.

I have to give her the biggest shout out because really, we have only recently met and she has been above and beyond what one might expect from the closest of friends. I am truly overwhelmed by her extension of support (not forgetting my other ladies, but this is CAE's turn for props ) and hope to repay her in turn. So thanks so much Christine...I really feel blessed to have met you!

Jess this is my opinion if this is truly the hairstyle you want for the wedding then you have to cut your hair. If you are not sure I suggest going to a few more trials and trying out different hairstyles at each trial.

It was no problem at all, and I really enjoyed hanging out with you and meeting Leo (though briefly.) Besides...I had nothing else to do (hehehehehe) - j/k!

IMHO: I agree with everything you said above, but I want to add that the hairstyle doesn't sit right with me. If you want to go all up - I think a low bun (very simple) with a gorgeous bridal comb would look gorgeous. I also would like to see a half-up half-down on you.

IMHO- I think you should continue to get trials done. Like Christine said.. I would like to see you with a half up half down style.

Geesh Jess, now YOU'RE the one not smiling!! It's clear to see that you were disappointed and not really happy with the trial. I would def go on another trial and get something else done. I think a low bun with a bridal clip would look lovely!!! GL!!!

thank you to everyone that looked and responded....I am not easily offended and I appreciate any and all constructive criticism. that was only the second time in my life that I have had my hair done in a salon (and funny enough both have been disappointing) but I am going to try a few different stylists and see what happens.

are there any stylists that will do more than one style at a trial? I really need to find someone that will play around with different looks...I have no idea what will look best.

I agree with both Christine and Qiana. It just doesn't look right... you are gorgeous and it doesn't do you justice. I think you would look great if your hair was layered more. I agree with Christine that a simple bun would look stunning. I also think that half up half down would look amazing on you.

I was told that if you have a trial at a salon during the week, they're more likely to spend more time with you and do more styles, since they won't be as crowded. Don't know how true that is, but it's worth a shot!

Le Cut (when you go on a Sunday) - Josephine and Grace are the only stylists there and will spend the entire day with you trying out different looks.

I would love to see a half up/half down style on you as well. If you are disappointed in this first trial, definitely go and get some more. I know they may cost $$, but maybe you can talk down the stylists....

I agree. It really doesn't do you any justice. I think you should definitely keep your hair up for your theme. But it needs to be softer and a little more dramatic.

don't be sorry. I know exactly what it looks like. I'd feel worse if you said it looked good! thanks for your advice and opinion. we're not only hear to blow sunshine up each other's behinds...sometimes things don't look good...I'd rather be told the truth and offered ways to fix it than for things to be sugar coated.

I am going to be honest- I don't love it on you

you are a very pretty girl and it does not do you justice

I would love to see half up and half down- I have about the same lenght hair and that's what I am doing

i think a simple low bun would be beautiful. also something plain half up would be nice. i think your nice straight shiny hair is beautiful. show it off!
